When the Collapse Comes...

The song is an anthem for the Alamo to come for the decent, Christian people of the United States. When our nation has lost all glory, honor, and dignity because of liberal Marxist, the country folks will not march to their deaths without a fight. They will fight for the boys of December 8th, 1941 who became men and defended their homeland. They will fight for the honor and dignity of the men of Korean and Vietnam Wars who served and asked nothing in return. they will stand for family, and decency, and community. But when the left has destroyed this, they destroy themselves. No more booger man or history to blame. Just your own sorry assed pathetic culture.

And all the Jewish Americans, Atheist Americans, and any other religious people of the United States.

For the ones who built this nation. Not for the politicians or the ones who sent our sons & daughters to die for some screwed up cause, but the ones who worked hard and did things the right way.

and the word PREPPER or SURVIVALIST is used as an insult I think . I use both but prefer different words that describe what PREPARED people do .

It's true that "PREPPER" is used today by the liberal media as a pejorative. It's the way they operate. Belittle anything you disagree with. Unfortunately, some of these folks make it far too easy for this media scum by feeding directly into their little game.

Best bet? They should say nothing and go about their business.

I disagree. I think EVERYONE should be prepared and I'm not going to let the political correct media try to shut me up. I would rather have my friends and neighbors prepared than unprepared. We know that disaster is going to happen and our government isn't going to be there. Look at Katrina, look at Sandy.

I never said that you shouldn't "prepare". What I said was that you should go about doing it QUIETLY - drawing attention to ones self usually ends badly - especially where the media is concerned.

Saw this yesterday:

When the collapse comes, God Willing, I will be ready. And when yhou knock on my door for help , the answer is 'Go **** yourself'

I'm just curious; you preppers out there who insist the world is coming to an end and are arming yourself to wart off the hordes of people coming for you Cocoa Puffs...are you going to tell your neighbor "Go **** yourself" if they knock on your door?

Watch "Doomsday Preppers"

It seems most on the show stockpile Ranch Dressing and Ketsup and water under their bed.

One episode showed a "democratic" prepper family. They kept self sustainable gardens and stated they would not have to have guns to protect them noting that they could tell someone with a gun, "You can either eat for a day or join us and work with us and eat for a lifetime".

I have no doubt that if something did happen a biker crew would come in and shoot the people growing the sustainable gardens and die within the month of starvation...

It seems to capture people's lack of knowledge about basic food and water and shelter. Watch Naked And Afraid. It does the opposite.

For those who live day-to-day, being close to the PODs (points of distribution) for bottled water, food, necessities is the only way to go. Being out in the boonies is probably a bad idea.

That might be useful in a more minor emergency of short duration. Otherwise it's about as smart as swimming where they are chumming for sharks and just about as suicidal.

Indeed. If you are not "capable" of living off the land (as most city folk are not) you won't make it through the first hard snow fall - let alone the first winter. Unfortunately, these weekend "Rambos" believe that it's as easy as the movie "Red Dawn" depicts it.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. The land will kill you quicker than the "enemy".

Water, shelter, food. In that order except when the weather is extreme. Then shelter comes first.

Long term, in a complete collapse, impact, nuclear war, caldera eruption, a very large percentage of the population will not survive. And for the ones that do, preperation will help, luck will be the most important factor. Even if you are completely isolated, if the nuke is off course, and you are on ground zero, bye bye.

In a huge catastrophe preparation won't "help", it will be essential to survival. Those who only prepared a little will die. Those who prepared well will stand a much better chance of survival. It is certainly not guaranteed, but in a game of long odds, the more variables in your favor the better.

Of course there would
That is what humans do. Isolated groups will reform into larger societies. Those most efficient in consolidating scarce resources will thrive. Those who insist on isolation will perish

Actually, those who are isolated with a small group out far enough away from the rest of humanity will do quite nicely. I pity to poor fools in the cities. Take a look at Northridge after the quake, or Oakland after Loma Prieta, or New Orleans after Katrina. It's not good for those who live day to day.

Like it or not, events happen that challenge the societal norms.
The good thing about the norms is that they tend to restore themselves over time.

Good to be prepared during the interim however.

So what happens if it's a carrington type event? There wont be any "points of distribution" with no running vehicles. And how would you tell whats left of the population where the POD is located with no radio or TV?

From the same guy who sung "If the South Would Have Won, we'd have it made"???? Whatever. The Alamo didn't end too well for those inside by the way.

Well, first of all, in a Carrington event, the whole of the population would be left intact. Second, there are a lot of us that know how to make the old junkers that run on equipment unaffected by the EMP run again. And, third, enough people would work together to get thing up and running enough for survival that we would make it, albeit, not comfortably. You see, in an event like that, we are all in it together, rich, poor, black, white, yellow, or red.

Indeed, you might be able to get a couple of trucks running. But communications is gone. Power is gone, meaning no refrigeration. And if you manage to get gas pumped manually, and do get on the road, where will you go? How do you find the food sources without driving all over? Back to pumping gas manually.

And if you get a couple of trucks loaded with food, how far will you get? I see mobs attacking food trucks. They attacked supply trucks when there emergency was less serious.

I admire your attitude. But in the panic that follows an EMP disaster, only a few will be thinking the way you do. I won't risk my family's life to the goodwill of a starving, panicked mob.

how many coffee cans of ammo can that racist 'tard- jimcrowie1958 JimBowie1958 stockpile AND he can't hold off his rw brethren forever who'll want some of his fire stick ammo as well.

Little toy soldier-wannabe punks.

The "whole of the population" most certainly wouldnt be intact.
No more dialysis no more insulin no more medication of any kind could be manufactured or delivered. The cold or the heat would kill the infirm. Not to mention accidents that would normally be survivable but with no way to get to a doctor you're screwed. And even if you did get to a doctor whats he going to work on you with? And who's to say he could even make it to the hospital?
You seem to think things would improve over time, and maybe they would after a few years, but a lot of people would die before it did.

Well you got one thing right. It wouldnt be a lib coming for his ammo...they'd all be dead.

Leadership? No.
Direction? Yes.

Not one and the same.

I've been trained in this for approximately ten years by FEMA and the National Fire Academy.TEEX, and even took courses offered by the USCG in search and rescue and the special types of trauma survivors undergo...

Every scenario taught in any of these classes had an incident commander directing the response.

Your mileage may vary. Good luck getting Cletus to submit to your authority.

FEMA teaches good bureaucracy. No wonder you're so clueless about neighborhoods taking care of themselves effectively. When Cletus decides to take over he'll be quickly judged on how good he is. If he's good, that frees someone else up for other needed tasks. If he sucks, he'll quickly learn that nobody wants to do what he tells them to do and will be replaced.

You've never done this for real so you can be excused for having the elitist view you have, but that doesn't make your analysis accurate.

You certainly have zero idea about what FEMA teaches if that is your view.

Just a quick question...those without weapons are "useless"....right?

No.

That would mean that Cletus has guns. What if Cletus doesn't feel like being replaced just yet.

----

Get back to me when you encounter this situation outside of your own head.

Every successful response (including the real world ones I have taken part in) has had an incident commander directing the effort. Can you do it with several centers of power wasting resources and duplicating effort? No. Because both are in short supply during an emergency.

You're talking about government solutions, while this thread is about situations where government support is not available.

Anyway, the question was what would you do if faced with someone knocking on the door after a collapse. Can we assume we can put you in the "I've got mine, you get yours" column?

I already answered you. Go back and re-read the thread, ditz.

The contempt you show is telling. You've some some hair-brained biases against people and then you can't even bother to read the answers to questions you asked.

So lets recap:

Liberals love fags, illegals, antiwar protestors, occupy Wallstreet types, communists, welfare leeches, Democrat women & blacks.

But pretty much judge & hate everyone else.

I have to apologize to everyone for my outburst above. I don't want the thread to devolve into the typical right/left pissing match. I was enjoying this thread for the most part, but couldn't resist the bait.

I'm not a prepper, per se, but I have enough food and supplies for my family to survive for a month. This would pretty much take care of most outages that realistically could happen short of a real SHTF situation. I would try to help those without if they came to me for help. If it was some sort of zombie apocalypse that some people envision, then all bets are off.

lol, it ended quite well; they are immortal heroes for freedom and live on in glory, having died to resist tyranny against ferocious odds.

500 years from now people will still speak of the heroes at Thermopylae and the Alamo and others like them, but no one will remember little piss ant cowards like you, dick breath.

No need to worry about dog cum, if there is no power her Rascal won't run and she'll be stuck in her trailer. She won't be coming for your supplies.
