Reinvigorating existing systems could very well be a partial fountain of youth. I know that when Autophagy starts during fasting, you lose many minor aches and pains, and in some cases, healing speeds up dramatically. Now this:

In other words, there's no need for diet and exercise, just give blood often.

Well, no.

They are just saying there is a beneficial aspect to giving blood.

Knowing full well how such information will be received. Actually, sounds like a scheme to get more free blood so more expensive surgeries can be performed.

When giving blood, you can always designate that the blood is for you alone.

Selfish bastard. :p :p :muahaha:

I'm not advocating this particular study, but I did find it interesting.

It's just one more wackadoodle idea about health that's going nowhere.

Therapeutic phlebotomy isn’t some new concept.

People with an excess of red blood cells often are prescribed the treatment

Do they still use leaches for that? :omg:

No, it’s exactly like donating blood

Interesting. I'm 5'0 and very petite so I can't donate blood. I guess they would account for that when they draw it? I often wonder why they don't do that for other meds. Like they put me and a 300 lb man in the same category....

Not all medications have dosages that need to be adjusted for weight, in fact most do not. The main factor is organ function (mainly kidneys and liver) and your body’s ability to process and excrete the medication.

I’ve only heard of therapeutic phlebotomy being used as a way to treat dangerously high RBC counts in the blood, as that causes risk of clots

I didn’t watch the video in the OP, but if it’s advocating “blood letting” as some sort of fad-thing we all should be doing like intermittent fasting or something, then that’s likely just quack science

It should only be done to treat very specific conditions and only under a (real) doctors order
