Let's look at work ethics.

I know I had a run when I went eight years (prior to retirement) without calling in sick....Just really never got sick enough to call in. :dunno:

I bet I have enough fingers to count the days I called in sick and would have some fingers left over.

I guess I remembered an old coworker who once said of those who were always calling in sick......Too much sickness and not enough death. ;)

How about you?

I never have called in sick. I couldn't afford to. I don't like those that do it a lot.

Called in sick once in about 35 years. Ate at a place and an hour later could not decide which end to hang over the toilet.
Even have gone to work with one hours sleep after a night in the ER due to kidney stones.
Have just not had any sickness. I stay healthy.
Besides I do not mind work, I have a sense of accomplishment

Pretty much the same.

The whole time. It was only about 2 1/2 years, but whatever.
Things got rough in 2009, I had to take whatever I could find.
I'm not a call-in sicker and brown-bottle flu doesn't count.
Like my friend's dad said: "You were a man last night, you'll be a man today, let the rough side drag."

Now that was a smart old cracker. :D

I had to leave work early once in 1984 because I had a massive case of poison ivy and couldn't function. I retired in 2016. No sick days in the interim.

oh, were that the blessing for their absence at least they might return ... in most cases, best they be gone.

I once went seven and a half years without calling in sick.
Not that I never got sick or would come in sick while on deaths door. But I didn’t get sick that often and recovered quickly
I had meetings and projects I did not want yo miss. I would make it to the weekend and be better by Monday
I had over 2000 hrs of sick leave when I retired

Some knew how to game the system, but it usually caught up with them by and by.

I was very good at feeding them enough rope to hang themselves. ;)

I never called in sick ... I showed up and had my Boss send me home ... work ethic ...

Trusses won't roll themselves ... and if it's truss day ... maybe the Boss needs the extra worker even if he's puking sick ... lay offs in construction is a fact-of-life, and I know how to be laid off last ... [wink wink] ...

The only time I've called in is when my wife went into labor ... but the Boss knew ahead of time ... and he had already planned for my absence and fired all the other pot heads that day ... ha ha ... "last to be laid off again" ...
