Zone1 What would Jesus do about the GOP plan?

Here is what Jesus would do: Remove government from all these programs and encourage individuals to volunteer their own time and resources to personally help others. That is the Christian way, and it would WORK. But no leftwing politician would ever dream of surrendering their power and the big pot of money they control.

This is why Jesus was a conservative.
There is nothing stopping Christians from pulling the people out of poverty and providing medical care to the uninsured today. Why isn’t it working? You are suggesting that in a world where the faithful can’t take care of those who fall through the cracks that if we get rid whole system with cracks that it will suddenly take care of all of them? You crack me up.

A more progressive tax structure isn’t Marxism. It is Biblically aligned though.
In a fair tax system every person would pay the same tax rate with no deductions

The poor the same as the rich

I’m guessing Jesus would prefer no taxes paid on the earnings you need to live and then a progressive system. I don’t suspect he’s a flat taxer. Just saying.

Doesnt answer the questions.

What questions? Four stupid, gamed questions proffered by some idiot in an undefined video where he offers no substantiation whatsoever of the claims?

Further, nothing is said of the fact that some of these issues have gone on for a long time yet you act like they are suddenly new ones under Trump never brought up when a democrat is in office.

Youre the first person to bring up Trump. Let’s leave him out of this and just discuss which policy direction is more Biblical if you are a follower or even just respect Christ.

Is complaining about the 47% who don’t pay taxes which are made up of the poor, the retired elderly, young students, and children a Biblical complaint?

You brought him up when you titled the thread the "GOP Plan." How could it be a "GOP plan" and not involve Trump???? Yet you offer no proof that there is anything of the sort, making this nothing but a troll thread. How could it be a GOP plan when many of the elements in your list go back to when Biden and Obumma were in office????

Trump isn’t the first GOP president hopeful to suggest slashing the tax at the top and cut benefits to the bottom. Romney’s 47% don’t pay taxes campaign for example.

The GOP passed the tax cuts for the wealthy. That’s common knowledge. They cut Medicaid. That’s common knowledge. They oppose public funding of schools. That’s common knowledge. And they have attempted to tear down the ACA which is. I’m on knowledge.

The GOP is on the wrong side, Biblically, of almost every policy but will scream to high heaven about the 10 Commandment being in schools.

Seems disingenuous.

What would Jesus do about a tax system that favors the rich over the poor?
Nothing
What would Jesus do about a Healthcare system that forces the sick to start gofundme pages?
Nothing
What would Jesus do about an Education system that tied a community’s education to it property wealth?
Nothing
What would Jesus do about an Economic system that prioritizes profits over the health of our planet?
Nothing

Jesus message to the world was to discern the will of God and follow it. He asked us to have a change of heart/mind when it comes to our personal sins. What would Jesus say to the individual who was considering sex outside of marriage, of abortion, of rudeness while driving? About moaning and complaining over issues they have absolutely no control over except to go on moaning and complaining?

Recall what Jesus said about Caesar. So give to the government what belongs to the government, and give to God what belongs to God. Recall that while free, Jesus made no attempt to visit or confront Herod--or the chief priests for that matter.

Jesus' message was/is for us as individuals living our individual life. Let's be content with living that message.

Government cuts charity out. It takes people away from helping others. Until 2012, we had a free clinic in one of our churches. Then when 0bama came in, it dissolved. People felt like it would be taken care of. That was a horrendous crime, taking away the opportunity to serve.

The only benefits at the bottom Trump is cutting are for people who should be ineligible for them in the first place.

The GOP passed the tax cuts for the wealthy.
I hope so, they pay nearly all of the taxes.

The GOP is on the wrong side, Biblically,
What would you know about the Bible?

James Talarico last week asked 4 simple questions to answer about what Jesus would do that are thought provoking. What are your thoughts on these answers?

  1. What would Jesus do about a tax system that favors the rich over the poor?
  2. What would Jesus do about a Healthcare system that forces the sick to start gofundme pages?
  3. What would Jesus do about an Education system that tied a community’s education to it property wealth?
  4. What would Jesus do about an Economic system that prioritizes profits over the health of our planet?
I don’t think he would approve of the GOP plan on any of those. What about you?

Jesus was fiction.

There are no god/s to save us.

If we were ants or bees, we could be good commies. Humans are too corrupt, greedy and evil to be good commies. If Jesus was real, that was what Jesus would say.

We don't need gubmint big enough to directly tax the rustics.
Maybe not

In fact of course we dont

But thats what we have and we find a way to tax more intelligently
