Democracy is what's wrong with America. Republicanism has left the building.
Now that is just ignorant.
Collectivists are the ones who hate democracy. It used to be that states held the majority of power. This was before Congress snatched the purse strings at the turn of the 20th century and robbed states the ability to appoint people to the Senate.
So what do we have today instead? Today we have a Congressional body that pretty much runs everything, but only has a 5% approval rating. However, they keep getting elected anyway. To top it off, Congress has delegated much of their power to the Executive branch and their myriads of departments and armies of unelected bureaucrats. Now regulations, which are just as good as laws, are passed by people who never face being elected or kicked out of office. Now these laws completely bypass Congress altogether. To make matters worse, since Congress now has so much power, they have greater power over all 50 states that they were not suppose to have. This is problematic because idiots like Nancy Pelosi, who could only get elected in San Fran, is someone who have a great deal over the entire nation now but only a hand full of people can vote her in or out.
Collectivism is the antithesis of democracy. They seek to centralize power to the point that votes are diluted due to the vast increased numbers being represented. Then those who claim to represent them, like the President, now decide things like how your child is educated and what doctor you see. Now only does the President not have the time it takes to oversee such minute details of our lives, he does not even live in my own state and is inaccessible. And as I have said, he has an army of unelected officials making decisions for me. For the sake of argument, if the President had the time to run our lives who thinks he has the wisdom to do so?
Don't get me wrong, I hate the GOP. They are collectivists as well, but to ignore the DNC is just plain daft.
