WH about-face: Trump now opposes 702 renewal? Pelosi tells Ryan to pull bill

Yes...both parties LOVE surveilling Americans. Thus, they have passed a law that is unconstitutional. Now...will the the judiciary outlaw it? Not likely, since the law has existed for some time.

This is yet another proof that our government is lawless and in my opionion traitorous.
got it. 702 a "legacy law" trump let ride at least for now. i need to read up on 702 before i really dive in one way or another but if back to surveillance w/o proper steps or warrants, this is the shit trump is supposed to be ending.
I do not think Trump has any intention of ending this shit. Clearly he does not.

They expanded the law and extended it for six more years.

Could be Trump knows he can't stop the deep state agencies and live.
i think if the deep state tried to or killed him, civil war would be next. too much has already gotten out and people are simply ready to get their country back.

If so, using those phones to communicate is a bad idea.
depends on how you use them. :)

Not really. Unless you turn it on, communicate, turn it off, and move.

Still...unconstitutional.

Oh hell yeah it is! And it has always been fully supported by both parties since it was created to keep us safe from the boggie man.

What bullshit. Nobody loves a conspiracy theory like Republicans.

There is no “Deep State”. Trump has provided no evidence whatsoever that the Obama Administration wiretapped or had the Trump campaign under surveillance.

Paul Manaforte was under surveillance for money laundering when Trump hired him. The FBI let their warrant expire while he worked for Trump and then re-applied for s new one after he quit.

Trump’s staff kept turning up on surveillance of Russian embassy staff, calling the Ambassador, meeting with Russians under surveillance. That’s how they got caught.

That bubble will be popped soon.

The Senate passed it and Trump signed it. This is an obvious breech of the Constitution. Our government is ignoring the law of the land. If this is not a clear ignoring of the Fourth Amendment and a criminal act, I don't know what is.

Are you suggesting that there isn't enough lawyers in the US to bring this to the Supreme Court?

Are you trying to be funny?

The law has existed for some time. The SC or any other court has not done anything about it. So, logically, I think we can conclude they won't.

may be time for a company to sell phones that monitor for being monitored and allow you to turn that off.

Probably not many. This system came to be under George W. Bush. Mass surveillance on the citizenry of America.

There was a Rockford files about that once. Now it has come to be.

Google, Apple, and Facebook must be very compliant with it, and they track everything you do.

They can remotely turn the camera and microphone on on your phone. Every single one is a "bug" with a camera and everything!

"Smart" Tvs, Alexa..same thing.

could you elaborate on things? not being anal, i want to better understand. what got passed and signed when that you are referring to? 702? the overall renewal? kinda lost between is this new or rehashing something?

i need my mt dew.

Lets try this one instead...

Trump signs surveillance extension into law
Still...unconstitutional.

If all this is true, this is very very bad!

I suspect it is much worse than we know. The central government is actively concealing it's actions and abusing its power.

How is it that that congressional memo has still not been revealed to the American people?

I agree with you, but do nor believe for a minute that this is something new. It's been happening for years. As far as the gubnit concealing things from us peasants. We are after all unworthy.

The memo release, if released, will show the 702 renewal should have NEVER been passed.

The DOJ / Intel Committee withheld the memo / evidence from the American people - and Congress who voted to renew it - until after it had passed....much like Mueller withheld evidence of Russian crimes associated with its effort to buy Uranium One until AFTER the committee vote to approve the sale.
