25 percent of our Army is black

Yet we tell those patriotic soldiers to report to an Army base named after someone who was not patriotic, fought against our country and fought to maintain the institution of slavery
None of them care. Many soldiers were pissed at the name changes, my son and daughter included. They wanted the old names back, and now they have them.

Is the United States, who had slavery enshrined in their Constitution for almost 80 years?
There you go again….

The reason the United States allowed slavery was those same southern states that formed the Confederacy

Any way you try to spin it
The Civil War was fought over slavery

The south seceded because of slavery.
Everything that followed was because of that decision
A slave nation (the United States) went to war against another slave nation (the Confederate States) over slavery?

That makes sense to you?

Lincoln himself said he did not invade VA due to slavery. As you pointed out, slavery was legal in both the north and the south at the time.

Great Britain did, but never formally.
Not formally = doesn't mean shit. Lincoln sent Seward to make it clear to the Europeans that if they did recognize the traitors that when business was wrapped up, they would be next in line for an ass whupping.

Slavery was the sole reason the Southern States seceded and formed the Confederacy
If not for that act, the war never would have happend

Lincoln was really all for war. And the proof is he invaded VA

No, the Brits just sent military advisors to the Confederacy and the French built and sold ships to them. I am sure they were terrified about what Lincoln might do.

They never recognized the traitors as a nation, and they went the **** home when Seward told them to. Seems like they got the message.

What the hell was wrong with Lincoln since he denied that was why he invaded VA

He didn't "invade VA," he sent the military to support a US FEDERAL FORT from attack by armed traitors.

15th post
Confederates were traitors which is why they were and are Democrats.

Name one country in the world that ever recognized it as an independent nation. You can go in your closet, close the door and declare it "a nation," but that won't make it one and if you have to be dragged out of there and beaten like a dog you have nothing to complain about.
You need to look up the definition of a "nation". It's probably in your social studies or geography textbook.

The South overreacted and seceded upon the election of Lincoln. They panicked because they thought Lincoln would abolish slavery.
Lincoln never had that intention or the power to do so. He just wanted to stop the expansion.

When Lincoln took office, most of the Southern states had already seceded. His initial position was to negotiate a reunion of the states…not a war

Then the south overreacted and listened to the hotheads again and attacked Sumter
