The traitors were the North, as I have proved. Again, how was the South the traitor.

Quantrill
They made war on their own country. They died. Good. All Americans should be proud that we murdered those fuckers. You should be proud we freed an.entire people from savages.

Are you proud to be an American?

None of them care. Many soldiers were pissed at the name changes, my son and daughter included. They wanted the old names back, and now they have them.
Exactly.

The left, who have never and would never serve in any armed force except for ANTIFA, dishonor today's military veterans by trying to sanitize our history for the sake of their precious feelings.

I took basic training at Fort Jackson, Jump School at Fort Benning, Rigger School on Fort Lee. Later, I took WM OBC on Fort Lee.

Now, Fort Lee is Fort Lee again. A different Lee, but I'm willing to compromise for the sake of any actual black people who are offended by General Lee, if any.

Longly, are you communist infiltrator or just a tool for some odd reason? America was founded on rights that all men are created equal among other rights. Slavery does not fit. The confederates were traitor to those values and laws. Kinda simple really unless your purpose is not serious or are you one of those people who do not possess values and a civic education.

"In a legal and constitutional sense, Confederates were traitors because they levied war against the United States. The U.S. Constitution explicitly defines treason as "levying War against [the United States], or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort". By seceding and fighting against the Union, Confederate soldiers and leaders committed this act." from google

I drove by Fort Rucker in Alabama a few weeks ago and did not know its name had been restored. It was a pleasant surprise.

My son was at Benning, Myer and Lewis. My daughter was at Knox, Lee, Hood and Campbell.

Why do you continue to show your ignorance to all?

Puerto Rico is not a state and they have had referendums on both statehood and independence.

And if they voted to leave, would you let them, or would you kill them by the hundreds of thousands?

I further swear that I be murderous, vermin, lying, scum!! :auiqs.jpg:
Sorry, riffing old movies.

That's why Lincoln forgave them. Or his vision of saving the Republic would be dust.

But they were still ******* traitors.

So to be clear, you would support waging war against Puetro Rico, kiling them by the hundreds of thousands, if they voted to leave?

And this has what to do with the subject at hand?..answer..nothing.

Address the Confederacy...not some mythical, alt-right scenario. :)

The connection is obvious. They are Americans, yet we all know that if they voted to leave, we would let them.

We would not wage war to keep them in the Union against their will.

Don't be afraid. Just answer the question. Then you can explain why "THAT'S DIFFERENT!"

Pretty simple. You would or would not kill Puerto Ricans for trying to leave the U.S. after deliberately voting in a pro-secesionist government?

The U.S. was like an abusive spouse who would rather kill his wife than let her go. Should it act that way again towards Puerto Rico?

But, my ancestors forgave that and the Flops have been loyal to the U.S. ever since. Just like every other Texan and Southerner not caught up in the "America Sux!" movement of the left.

Are you proud that your ancestor committed murder after the war was over—a Black Union soldier during the occupation could murder a white Southerner for almost any reason, especially if the commanding officer was vengeful toward them. I suspect it happened regularly, perhaps not as often as rumors of the time would suggest, but the fact remains: your people committed murder. These acts of revenge helped create the racial tensions we still face today.

Before the Civil War, Black Americans were not generally seen as the enemy. But after the war, they were—and these atrocities contributed to that shift. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: revenge is almost always a bad idea.

They are AMERICANS, who if they wanted, could vote to leave and we would respect that.

ie NOT kill them by the hundreds of thousands.
Puerto Rico is not a state.

He's addressing a principle—not some Alt-Right scenario. If Puerto Rico were a state and decided to leave the Union, what would happen? Would we just let them go? How could you let Puerto Rico go and still expect other states to remain in the Union? That would mean all the people who died in the War Between the States died for nothing.

If Puerto Rico decided to leave the Union—assuming they were a state at that time—it would not be considered treason, since they are a sovereign people, not bound by the same constraints as an individual. Someone like Jane Fonda, for example, did commit treason. Her actions were not empowered by any sovereign government or collective body; they were solely her own.

The traitors of the so-called "confederacy" were not only stupid enough to make war on their own country when any fool could see their chances were just about 0, but economically short-sighted enough to waste one of their only resources. With very few options for funding their hopeless cause, some genius figured they could benefit from increasing the cost of cotton. The UK, their biggest customer, didn't really want to pay more. So, the "confederate" idiots decided to burn a whole season's cotton crop. Less cotton, higher price, right? Well, it turned out NO. The British just turned and started buying all their cotton from Brazil, Egypt, and India. Cut the south out entirely. One more disadvantage for the traitors.

Except no one cares about your analogy. It ain't the same slugger.

They were traitors. The people in Puerto Rico are not... :)
But you can still throw paper towels at them.

Well, I reckon you missed my history when I presented it here, so I'll recap.

I was a construction worker during the Vietnam War. I'd already been drafted and rejected due to a leg injury. At the time, they said I might possibly be qualified after more healing. One day during the war, I saw American protesters burning the American flag and waving the Vietcong flag. At that point, I decided to do something.

I've always hated thugs, bullies, and communists for their thuggish behavior. I couldn't just stand by. I wasn’t sure I’d qualify, but I was going to try.

My first plan was to join the Army. I considered armor, but for the sake of my mother—who I thought was going to have a stroke—I compromised and joined the Air Force. She thought I’d be safe in the Air Force, but what she didn’t know was that the Air Force also has ground combat units. To honor my compromise, I left it up to my recruiter to choose my specialty. I was certain I’d end up in a ground combat unit like Security Police or maybe EOD, but it didn’t turn out that way.

I didn’t enlist for a career. I enlisted for ideological reasons—to do something to resist a murderous, thuggish ideology.

I never intended this thread to be in support of slavery. My intention was to demonstrate the uniqueness of the American system by way of a historical event. In many countries around the world, sovereignty rests in a king or an elected government. But in our country, it’s the people who are the rulers.

The communists claimed that the people were the rulers in their system, but it was just lying, manipulative propaganda. The American citizen—or citizens collectively—are truly sovereign. Most people don’t recognize the power of the people, which is unfortunate.
