Wrong. We are not talking about limiting government from HELPING people. It is none of the government's business what I eat or how I live really. First it was prohibition. That didn't work. Then about 20 years ago, they went after tobacco, another wholly legal product. Now they are going after comfort food. It is just a rationalization to steal from the weakest and most vulnerable least able to defend themselves to take back a little to help compensate for years and years of bad governmental management and spending. If the ******* government hadn't spent itself 40 trillion into debt getting all fat and lazy, no one would care about Joe Blow having a candy bar a couple times a week.If we were limiting government to stay out of people’s lives, then we wouldn’t have a free government food program at all.
The waste is not in people buying food. The waste is in government theft, and the government letting many onto the programs who could be out earning a living for themselves. The government is justified in not letting folks starve, but are not justified in telling people what they can eat. How would you like me picking movies for you to watch? Places to go on vacation? Maybe choosing your meals. Perhaps I could even pick out who you should date, marry or have kids with? After all, you use lots of publicly-funded services yourself. But once you have these tax-payer provided assistance programs, then we need restrictions on how our tax dollars are to be spent to curtail the waste.
Listen honey, I'm probably THE most conservative person on this board. I just don't have my head up my ass.If you were a conservative, you’d understand this. Instead, you revert to the lib MO of insulting your opponent with childish lies and bringing up Israel in an asinine comparison.
