There has never existed a time in contemporary Western society when the population of "helpless" fat people was larger than it is today....The last I read it's around 47 million in the US on SNAP/EBT.

Because of all the "help" our society has given people, we now have tens of millions of fat people who can't live without that "help".

And we've now reached the point where we don't know what the heck else to do with them.

Read an article Republicans are working on a fix for SNAP, beating dems at their own game. Let the dems blast Republicans for paying the military and SNAP.

Well, undoubtedly, half of these people on SNAP etc., are well-enough off that they will get by. Many only partially qualify for the benefit anyway. But not everyone on these programs are a fraud. Isn't WIC a family program to feed children?

I guess we will see. Many of the people on SNAP probably truly deserve and need the help due to medical or other needs and will be hard pressed to get by. Personally, I believe Chuckie Schumer is banking on most SNAP recipients being democrats and most democrats being so brainwashed that no matter what, they will simply blame the GOP for everything anyway.

But then, these people were already blue voters in the first place so the GOP is losing nothing.

Definitely most like, IMHO. Keeping in mind that I dont' think all the Dems will cave - just enough to pass the clean CR. Schumer will go down with the ship, even if there were mass starvation.

But Dem Senators in states like Virginia, Georgia, New Mexico and Arizona may not want to be on the wrong side of the SNAP/WIC issue. Warnock probably doesn't fear that AOC will move to Georgia and primary him.

LOL....The "childrenz" must really like crab legs. The local Walmart only puts them out in the freezer bunker just after they close to keep the EBT crowd at bay.

You got me there. I've heard that a lot of these kids don't even get the benefit, that their mother leaves them home crying while she is out buying drugs and getting knocked up again.

But I know stereotypes are never accurate. I'm sure a lot of kids get and need a lot of help from these programs. I mean, look at our voters! A lot of people in this country are not fit to make it on their own.

But we are creating them more and more by the day. Realize it or not but every little thing we do (usually called technological advances) like cellphones and now AI, just really add up to make people dumber and lazier by making them more dependent.

Don't think young people DEPEND on their smartphone to get by? Just try taking one off of them and ask them to go 24 hours without carrying their smartphone with them.

So, it really isn't programs like SNAP that are bad, they do a lot of good for many people. The real problem is how they have come to be abused both by overly-dependent people and by a slovenly government management.

Virginia gives out around 217million a month in SNAP money provided by the feds, not counting administrative costs to get it out to the lard asses.....We have a 5 Billion emergency reserve.

Younkin has already declared an emergency to fund it till the dems get off their ass.

I did hear that any money the state has to put out will be returned with interest by the feds so there's that i guess.
