I had a harsh debate with a poster that food stamps should not be valid for junk food. He argued back that we shouldn’t tell people what to do with “their own money.”

No reason they couldn’t have put a couple of packages of chicken and ground beef in the freezer, along with a loaf of bread. Milk freezes too. A jar of peanut butter and jelly and a box of cereal in the pantry,

All that adds up to is $20. They could have easily had that by avoiding Cheetos, candy, and soda for a month or two.

About 10 years i started keeping track of every dollar i spend on food. I never go to restaurants and just buy food from wally and zon. My goal is to average $5 a day every month and i do it almost every month. And i buy anything i want. I could get by on $3 a day if i really tried.

It's easy to give, hard to take away. A certain group in society think, "Why work when I'm getting it free?". Welfare DOES NOT help folk long-term.
