No, there are not many hurdles to overcome. You banned AR style weapons before and you can do it again.
You can stop just giving guns to anyone who wants one and start controlling who gets them. That’s what background checks are for except you keep looking for ways to encourage idiots to buy guns.
There are any number of things that you could be doing but you’re not. Even the right to worship as you see fit is limited. Blood sacrifices are illegal. Female gender mutilation is illegal. These are solid religious practises in some parts of the world that your First Amendment freedom of religion clause would seem to allow.
You completely ignore the “well regulated militia” caveat in the 2nd Amendmen and hinge everything on the notion that access to weapons must not be “infringed”. But you have no problem, infringing on the rights of religious people who believe in blood sacrifice.

The oil market is worried that Gulf countries will have to shut production if tankers are unable to pass the the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran borders the Straight of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world's oil is shipped. Anyone familiar with the geography of the region knows this. And they knew how disruptive to shipping through the straight an attack on Iran would be. You'd have to be a moron not to understand this.
Begging the question, is the inevitable impact of trump's war with Iran the reason he did not take the legal route of seeking the approval of Congress to start it? Is it part of the plan?
Or one could ask, was a spike in the price of oil anticipated but dismissed as a price to be paid by US consumers (like the tariffs have been) worthy of the end game? I guess we'd have to know what the end game is before answering that question. Was it regime change?

If it was, the war trump unnecessarily started was a reckless roll of the dice. The narrative for the rationale to start the war has constantly shifted leaving the timing of the off ramp in doubt. If Khamenei's kid becomes the leader does the war go on until he is killed too? Do we keep killing Iran's chosen leader until they pick one the master of regime change likes? If oil breaks over $90 a barrel does that change the calculus for ending the war?
Are members of the regime asking themselves these questions? Or is the US hostage to an oft used approach of trump's he has articulated quite often?

Avengers had been forward-deployed to the Middle Eastern nation for years, where critical mine countermeasures duties have now passed to Independence class Littoral Combat Ships (LCS).The public affairs office for U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) and U.S. 5th Fleet first released pictures of the M/V Seaway Hawk, a contracted semi-submersible heavy lift vessel, carrying the former Avenger class ships USS Devastator, USS Dextrous, USS Gladiator, and USS Sentry last Friday. The Navy released more images and a brief statement yesterday. The date stamps on the pictures show the Avengers were physically loaded onto the Seaway Hawk in Bahrain on January 9.
The Navy acquired 14 Avenger class ships between 1987 and 1994. Four of them are still in service, all of which are forward-deployed in Japan, but are also slated for decommissioning in the coming years.

Trump says he’ll tap Strategic Petroleum Reserve to cut energy costs
President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he will tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to help lower energy costs during the Iran war.“We’ll do that, and then we’ll fill it up,” Trump said in an interview with Cincinnati broadcaster WKRC.
“I filled it up once, and I’ll fill it up again, but right now, we’ll reduce it a little bit, and that brings the prices down,” the president said.
Gasoline prices in the U.S. have risen to about $3.58 per gallon on average as the Iran war has triggered a massive disruption of global oil supplies, according to motorist group AAA. The current retail price is nearly 22% higher than the same period last month when gas cost about $2.94.
Trump’s comments come after the International Energy Agency agreed Wednesday to release 400 million barrels of oil to address the supply disruption. It is the largest release in the more than 50-year history of the IEA.

The US is swimming in oil and VZ is just ramping up.
Oil should head back down to the $50s, then he'll refill and top off the SPR

Why can't you understand the price of oil is set by a global marketplace? If oil is in short supply around the world domestic production levels don't matter much. The US is already a net exporter of oil but that hasn't stopped WTI crude from going much higher. $91 a barrel this morning, up 4+%. It will continue to go higher as long as Iran is able to maintain its blockade of the strait.
