USMB Coffee Shop IV

Got about just over a week left. Filed for disability after talking to the Doc and radiation crew, consensus was you ain't going back to work until a month after treatment ends.
Wow. So sorry you're having that problem. I am already retired so it isn't a problem for me. Will you employer hold your job for you? Or do you mean you intend to retire?

The amount of time between posts.
There is an ebb and flow to the Coffee shop that will have been going for 16 years next May.

A lot of the old regulars have 'moved away' from USMB and/or are no longer with us here on Planet Earth. Some of those only check in now and then anywhere on USMB. We have some semi-regular old timers still though and a number of new ones like yourself.

There are days we can fill several pages in an hour or two. And much less frequently we can have a day without posts.

So just keep posting as the spirit moves you and it all evens out.

No they are pretty good at holding your job. Not too long ago guy messed up his left arm and was out quite awhile. I just need a month to let the radiation burn to my innards go away

Only thing left in prep for turkey day is to cook the Turkey. I did the stuffing early since I'm off. Use 4 bags of bread crumbs and 2ibs pork sausage onions celery thyme, butter and lots o sage. Bought a high end creamier butter this yr to see if it makes a diff. Have to make a double batch so everyone can take some home. Bought a high end Port to sip on during the day, its almost like Kool-aid its so good. Got our first snow last night, not enough to use the blower. Happy Thanksgiving to all, enjoy.

Sounds great. My niece and her husband are treating Aunt Betty--my aunt, her great aunt--to Thanksgiving dinner at their house and, when they take her home to the assisted living facility that is close to our home, they're bringing us Thanksgiving dinner. This is because I never know when I'll crash and burn from the fatigue that goes with my treatments Yesterday that was terrible. Today almost none at all.

I will go ahead and make a dressing as she is gluten intolerant so doesn't make dressing and I'll make us a sweet potato dish because she doesn't like sweet potatoes and therefore doesn't make them. But they'll bring everything else--turkey, ham, sides. It's great to have family who love you. :)

Reaaly getting tired of the son in law. supposedly a crack mechanic but for some reason the wife has to rescue them on a regular basis. Our whole Sunday pissed away because crack mechanic cant tell a lemon when he sees one or doesn't upkeep em.They probably have gone thru more vehicles than I have owned over my lifetime and I've never purchased a new vehicle.
One, smell the oil, then the tranny fluid, listen to the engine, take it for a drive. Not that hard.
Had one that was putting out a big puff of white smoke on start. Called previous owner for some info and found out it had a bad valve guide. All I did was put in a hotter plug and replace as needed.
It is not unusual for someone in a job to not want to do that same type of work at home.
