The point to make now is that the Ukraine served America's purpose of initiating hostilities against Russia, but it has been almost completely neutralized by Russia. The mercenaries coming from Nato countries are likely outnumbering the Ukrainians who are fighting.

Protecting the Ukraine being Nato's/America's excuse for being there can't be upheld as the reason when half the country has been destroyed and half the civilian population has left and are living in Russia or Nato countries.

The Ukraine will never be a Nato member because there can be no purpose served. Nato's article 5 is now just getting in the way of progress against Russia.

There's no future injury against the Ukraine that could be prevented by article 5!
