Trump wins again. Anonymous billionaire steps up to make sure military gets paid during shutdown

Trump can break all the laws he wants after what we witnessed between 2021 and 2025; election fraud in 2020 and then a wide open border the next 4 years with an executive branch that refused to uphold immigration law, and in fact, did everything they could to encourage the entire world to come in, and then allowed sanctuary cities and states. In other words, the executive branch decided that the law didn't matter.

Oh yeah: GFY
Very well, when will military members get this $100 gift card? Next week?

The law requires also that congress pass spending bills. You seem fine with OAC, Jeffries and Schumer preventing that from happening.

When our military is not paid due to a minority political party that has openly expressed a desire that people suffer so that minority can have "leverage," that is an emergency that the executive must respond to.

Clear it up in court later on, but do not starve the children of our service people in the meantime. As of now, no controlling legal authority or any case whatsoever has said that what Trump did was any violation of law whatsoever.

Let your hate go, just long enough to applaud Trump for finding a way.
Hey Seymour. When will military members get this $100 gift card that Trump "found a way" to pay for? Next week? Don't tell me our soldiers will go another week without pay because Trump can't find a way.

Again: the military will get paid, and the democrats WILL compromise. Or the shutdown continues.

Your serve.

The problem with that son....is that it is a CONSTANT on the right hand side of the aisle.
Don't waste my with the whole "both sides" crap.

You openly supporting corruption and grift.
You got no leg to stand on. :)
Both sides work on this because it is both sides and has always been.

How would you describe the level of influence peddling among Democrats? "Non-existant?"

If you said all that to make the point that 130 million isn't enough, of course it isn't. The government should be fully funded.

Tell your Party, or "not your party" to stop being afraid of AOC and vote for the clean CR and THEN negotiate Schumer and Jeffries' far left priorities.

Don't know, don't care.

We are 37 trillion dollars in debt.

The democrats are going to compromise.

are they even gonna get the gift card? Yes or no?
And just to confirm, do you want your not-party to agree to your favorite party's proposals. correct? so simple!
How about your party giving your not-party what they want, and then negotiate later?
Negotiating later is a good thing in your book. Right?

Not my party, pal. I'm a Libertarian.

Biden won the 2020 that was virtually free of voter fraud. The borders have never been wide open.

GFY.

Timothy Mellon, a reclusive billionaire and a major financial backer of President Trump, is the anonymous private donor who gave $130 million to the U.S. government to help pay troops during the shutdown, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Mr. Trump announced the donation on Thursday night, but he declined to name the person who provided the funds, only calling him a “patriot” and a friend. But the two people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the donation was private, identified him as Mr. Mellon.

Shortly after departing Washington on Friday, Mr. Trump again declined to identify Mr. Mellon while talking to reporters aboard Air Force One. He only said the individual was “a great American citizen” and a “substantial man.”

“He doesn’t want publicity,” Mr. Trump said as he headed to Malaysia. “He prefer that his name not be mentioned which is pretty unusual in the world I come from, and in the world of politics, you want your name mentioned.”

Tell your Party, or "not your party" to stop being afraid of Dotard, tell M. Johnson to bring the House back in session, swear in Adelita Grijalv, and hold a vote on the discharge petition.

Wow. $130 million you say? Golly! That will be enough to pay a couple thousand troops, maybe!

Do you suppose this "anonymous" billionaire expects something from our transactional grifter in the White House?

A personal carve-out for tariff relief, maybe?

.
It would be if they're making $5,500 a month + housing, food, health etc..

I have no idea if they are going to get any "gift card." I'm sorry, I'm not aware of that. Is that something going around Democrat circles or something?

I tried to play along and look it up, but AI hasn't heard of that.

Anyway, you completely miss the point. Trump is trying to find a way to pay the troops. Democrats are trying to stop him so that their suffering will continue to give them "leverage."

Even the liberal media is pointing that out. Not paying the troops and calling it a failure if Trump's attempt to do so does not provide the full amount that Democrats are depriving them of is a terrible bragging point.

Give them what they want and then negotiate? Sounds like a poor start to negotiations.

Yes, as soon as the small group of Democrats stop blocking funding for the government, Republicans will be able to negotiate with them about the ACA COVID Supplement.*

Democrats could do very well in those negotiations. The media is on their side, MTG Republicans support it and other Republican voters arent' that worried about it. It isn't a lot of money relative to government, and I doubt Trump cares much either way.

But, of course Republicans are not going to give in to blackmail, because doing so only encourages more blackmail.

The Affordable Care Act has been a disaster since it was voted in without a single republican vote, and the subsidies voted since then - again without a single Republican vote - only confirmed that it did not at all live up to its name.

*Unfortunately, the ACA COVID Supplement isn't really the Democrats' main demand in my opinion. Neither is the money for PBS and NPR. It's the medicaid for people who crossed the border illegally that the Dems are falling on their swords for.

Republicans will never give in on that one, so outcome will surely be a a few more Democrats joining Fetterman et al, to re-open government against the wishes of AOC and her minions Jeffries and Schumer.

Why?

What's your rush?

Oh wait. You thought the 130 million is more like “salary” than a gift card?
130 million dollars is equivalent to $100 one time payment to each serviceman.

Did you ever get a salary like that)
