Trump wins again. Anonymous billionaire steps up to make sure military gets paid during shutdown

Democrats want Americans to suffer.
Trump wants Americans to suffer.
Otherwise, he would tell Republicans to give Democrats what they want so the shutdown would end .
Oh wait. You think Democrats are the ones who should give republicans what they want so the showdown ends. Very convenient.

Democrats are shutting down the government because they don't have the votes to get what they want.

Democracy right?

From your link:

disqualified for lacking valid signatures, dates or postmarks.

Isn't that what you freaks have been whining about?
If they lacked signatures, fine. Otherwise, the troops are serving overseas and the ballots come in bulk. It’s not like an individual voter here at home who waits too long to send and the postmark is not on time..

Plus, you said it didn’t happen. I showed you it did and now you are making excuses and defending disqualification over something out of their control.

It didn't happen the way you claimed it did.

You lied, man up, own it, and move on like a grown up.

Just because they didn't like you doesn't mean everyone has struck out in a stripper club.... :SMILEW~130:

You are the one changing the story after you said it didn’t happen. Now you are back tracking.

Republicans don't want anything that they don't already have..

It's a "clean" CR.

It's the first time in history one side has shut down the government over a clean bill that only continues the current spending (which was set under Biden).

Since this seems to be taking so long, should the Democrats figure out some way to increase the suffering, so they have more leverage? If not, why not?

How about the lack of SNAP benefits starting in November, i.e. starving children? Will that be enough suffering to increase the Dems' leverage, or should they do more?

Let the shutdown continue, until the Democrats decide to compromise. Otherwise, let's keep it going forever.

Has anyone even noticed that the government is shut down?
I certainly haven't.

There's a new sheriff in town - his name is Donald Trump.

Two things about that. 1. Do the math on how much each member of the military will get. 2. Any money donated to the government must go by law to the Treasury Department for disbursement, not to Generalissimo Dotard. It's against the law for him to accept it.

The total national defense budget, including related agencies like the Department of Energy's nuclear programs, is around $895 billion.

To put $130 million in context: It represents just 0.015% of the DoD's FY2025 budget. In other words, $130 million could theoretically fund about 1.8 hours of the military's overall spending (assuming a 365-day year). This highlights how vast the military's financial scale is—$130 million is a drop in the bucket for the entire institution but could make a meaningful impact in narrower areas.

It works out to be $65 per serviceman. They could fill their car up and go to the local food bank but the cupboards are nearly empty due to increased demand.

It is to pay active duty troops for a few weeks.

Do the math Dude,

I know math is difficult for the trump cult, but, can you tell me approximately how many 'active duty' troops we currently have?

I'll wait, then I will provide the answer when you once again DEFLECT and avoid the actual question.

So, you are unwilling to set aside your hatred for Trump even just long enough for the children of military service people to be able to afford school lunches and to enjoy thanksgiving with family, instead of at the soup kitchen?

You assume that others will not be inpired to make donations.

Why do you think that?
