AF1 is WAY BEHIND SCHEDULE.

The initial $3.9 billion contract was originally signed in 2018 for Boeing to provide two new jets to serve as Air Force One was supposed to be completed by 2024. Boeing now expects the planes to be finished and delivered in 2028.

If he’s planning on continuing the grift tour after he oozes out of office, its not useful for that purpose.

It costs a lot to operate a 747 compared to the defunct 757 he already has.

It can only be landed at certain airports. Few places in rural America have that sort of airport. If you’re going to want to play in front of the yokels and can’t use air force bases, you have to have a plane small enough to get into possum hollar. A 747 can’t do that.

Reagan library was opened in 1991....the plane he has in his Library ceased to be AF1 when the NEW AF1 arrived in 1990 and put in use,

and then the plane was used as AF1s back up plane flying where AF1 flew in case the New AF1 broke down or needed maintenance and was thenused by the VP and cabinet by the AF until 2001, when GW Bush retired the plane and leased it to the Reagan Library.

Since the Library was already built, (GHWB and wife took its last flight home to Texas,) and it was eventually flown to California and had to be taken apart, disassembled, to fit it in the 30,000 square ft glass enclosure at the library, and reassembled inside the library,for its display.

If the US taxpayers paid for all the security upgrades the new jet should become AF-1, not Trump's private jet.

We are post dominance in aerospace or living off of anything built up from the past. The Boeing corporation was always can do. Not anymore. Frankly, the European derived Airbus 380 would be a great Air Force 1. You guys accuse Republicans with the science denial crap and yet you have filled employment anything with science using DEI employees. We need to get educated men and women as immigrants to fill these positions and start pushing real education with merit.
