So, this plane had all of the security and protections installed in it in the last year or so while we are waiting for the same security and protections from the two 747's that were already built and almost a decade ago and is delayed for some reason.

Personally, I am betting that this aircraft does not have all of the bells and whistles that the new aircraft will have. They are just not telling anyone about it. Why tell someone your weaknesses?

Qatar gave the new jet to the US or Trump? I thought the "emoluments clause" says the president can't accept gifts?

I thought we went thru this discussion already?

If the US taxpayers paid for all the security upgrades the new jet should become AF-1, not Trump's private jet.

Trump can have one of the 40-year old 747s for his library, but the new jet should be AF-1for a while, shouldn't it?

"The administration formally accepted a luxury Boeing 747 jet from Qatar last year to be used as the presidential airplane, despite questions about the ethics and legality of accepting such an expensive gift from a foreign government. Trump has insisted in the past that he would not fly around in the Qatari jet once he leaves office and said it would instead be donated to a future presidential library."

The AF-1 gift from the Qatari's is not a personal gift to Trump. It was a gift to the U.S. Presidency in general. Thus, Trump is not accepting a "personal gift." Major distinction there. Since it is coming from the Qatari government and they allow terrorist leaders to stay there, I say tear that plane apart, down to the last nut and bolt to ensure its safety and that there are no compromised electronics.
Personally, I wouldn't trust anything given to me from any Islamic nation.

So, you don’t think our security apparatus has done just that? What world are you living in?

Mr. Big Spender has no problem spending our money on his luxury and beautifying projects....Ballrooms, Triumph Arcs, Pool, billion dollar Palace in the Sky, $250 dollar bill with his face on it, renaming the Kennedy Center with his name, etc etc....costing us a fortune for these vanity projects of his that his time has gone to, while the rest of Americans are suffering..... Not a good look, at all and very wasteful use of our tax dollars when we are in debt for $40 trillion, people can't afford food, rent, homes, healthcare, tariff hikes....

And Mr big spender actually brags about the luxury plane he spent our tax dollars on, solely for himself....

“This plane was transformed into a flying White House at a level of luxury that nobody has ever seen before,” Trump said from inside the massive Andrews Air Force Base hangar

Trump used all the money Tater was spending on Tranny comic books for Iran.

My understanding is that the cause for the delay of the two new ones from Boeing is that the new security requirements are that everyone who works on any electronics MUST have a security clearance. I doubt that the Qatari jet has that same requirement, otherwise it would never be flyable so fast.

Express thanks to Qatar for the plane and then just move on. There's work to do.

This is what is going on with the crooked Man of Lawlessness....

Was Congress required to give permission for the president to receive the $400 million jet from Qatar?

No congressional permission was obtained, which sparked intense legal and political debate.
The Foreign Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution strictly prohibits government officials from accepting gifts from foreign states without the "Consent of the Congress." Critics and House Democrats argued that the gift explicitly violated this clause and introduced resolutions demanding the administration seek formal approval.
However, the Trump administration bypassed Congress by having the Department of Defense formally accept the Boeing 747 as a gift to the United States government—rather than a personal gift to the president. The Pentagon and the Air Force maintained that the aircraft was processed and accepted in accordance with federal rules regarding foreign donations to the military, operating it as an official government asset to serve as a temporary "bridge" aircraft for Air Force One.

But isn't Trump going to take this new Qatari airplane with him and put it in his library after we spent almost a billion on it? 400 million to a billion.

Yes, that is the stated plan, and it has caused significant controversy.
Donald Trump has confirmed that after serving as a temporary "bridge" Air Force One during his second term, the Qatari jet will be decommissioned and transferred to his future presidential library. He has pointed to Ronald Reagan’s presidential library—which famously features a retired Air Force One on display—as the precedent for this move.
The logic behind the plan, according to the administration, is that the plane was accepted by the Department of Defense as a gift to the United States government, not to Trump personally. Because it is a government asset, the administration argues it can legally be transferred to the library foundation as a museum piece when his term ends.
However, critics and legal experts have pointed out several major issues with this setup:
Taxpayer-Funded Upgrades: The $400 million plane was upgraded and outfitted with heavy military-grade communications and security systems to meet presidential standards, adding significant taxpayer costs onto the "free" gift.
The Post-Presidency Loophole: Ethics watchdog groups and congressional Democrats argue that once the plane is transferred to Trump's private presidential library foundation, it could create a massive loophole allowing him or his foundation to continue utilizing the luxury aircraft post-presidency.
So while the administration maintains it is legally structured as a donation to a federal museum project, critics view the setup as a way to bypass both the Foreign Emoluments Clause and standard government asset disposal laws.

Except for the fact that presidential libraries don't belong to the individual. They belong to the US taxpayer.

Presidential libraries are considered public property and belong to the American people. They are administered by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and are funded through a combination of private donations and federal support.

Yeah, and since when does the USAF/Pentagon donate a plane they retrofitted with $400 million to $1 billion of our tax dollars, and decommission its use just two years later, so it can sit in an enclosed hanger in a presidential Library? It LEGALLY doesn't.

If Mr Big Spender wants OUR PLANE that we JUST PAID for (or borrowed the money our children will pay), then he can purchase it for the +/-$1 billion we the tax payer, paid for it. That's how it works, under our laws.

Trump made $3 billion on insider trading, crypto, and his coin, family contracts with govt, etc... just since he's been in office ....off of foreign entities buying his "love"....

WHEN are you guys going to open your eyes and see what is right before you?

He can afford it....or just get his followers or billionaire friends with their donations to pay for it.

Since we just paid for it to be used for the next 30-35 years, it could become a plane for the vice president.... who's using an old jet, once the President's new souped-up Air Force one, planes arrive.....

Since you have a half billion spread in your numbers and you haven't got a law degree, I am positive that you have no idea what you're talking about. LOL, run along gramma.

The library won't belong to him. If you were informed you would know that.

He's done nothing illegal. LOL, I haven't heard you questioning the illegal actions of Omar and Piglosi. Hmmmmm, why is that?

Taxpayers aren't paying for it, what's your complaint.
WHEN are you guys going to open your eyes and see what is right before you?
My eyes are wide open and I see you and your traitorous ilk will put your party ahead of the good of the country and sell the country down river because of your irrational hatred for a man you've never met.

Exactly. Trump's library should get one of the 40-year old 747s

1. Why decommission a new recently upgraded VC-25b when we taxpayers can get use out of it for many years?

2. Why not give Trump's library one of the 40-year old "retired" 747s?

Look at it as a US taxpayer.

As compared to what you guys did to D.C. several years ago and he had to walk out of the White House with a bible to try to get some sense into you. so many of your voters are fools and do not even begin to understand what your party is.
