I hear differing stories on this. One says trump will keep it. The other says the US government will keep it. Not sure which is true. I guess the Saudis will try to outbid Qatar now?

I suppose we'll just have to keep it somewhere, probably at the back of the hanger where we keep the real Air Force One. We'll bring it out when Qatar comes to visit. "Oh yeah, it's great! We use it all the time! It's a great plane. Really."

Of course now we'll have to get them something in return. Maybe some oil. They don't have that, do they?

Yes, two very old 747s that date back to the GHWB;s term, That was the late 80s BTW. Boeing has been working on replacements since Trump was in office the first time and he proposed changing the paint scheme.

#1 Qatar must gift the aircraft with no strings attached. It becomes the property of the United States Government in perpetuity with no conditions. That since it was donated to the Air Force and not President Trump, that it would not be transferred to a private Presidential Libary organization.

#2 The aircraft will be used for at least 10 years by the Air Forces as an air show symbol at events around the world as a "Aircraft Good Will Platform" and will be open to the public to demonstrate the close friendship between the people of Qatar and the people of the United States.

#3 Due to security concerns and the costs of safety and national security deep inspections and the costs of retrofitting communication and anti missiles system the aircraft will remain unmodified but will never fly with the President onboard or fly with the designation of "Air Force 1" nor will it be designationed a VC-25(series) within the Air Forces inventory.

Under those considtions the US would be happy to accept.
