Trump may have already changed his mind after today's market carnage.

Countries might impose a tariff on a particular product in order to protect that industry. The US does the exact same shit. It helps to maintain a competitive balance. Imposing a universal tariff on all imports because you're butthurt the exporting country isn't buying enough from us even though they're 20-100x smaller in population and economy is literally the most braindead logic on the planet. It makes even less sense when you tariff products that we don't even make here! You're not "evening the playing field" with a universal tariff on 100 countries, what you're doing is setting yourself up for economic collapse.

And I've said I disagree with the universal tariff. I said true reciprocal tariffs are good though.

The average tariff the EU has on US imports is less than 3%.
The eu isn't just one country.. trump didn't put a tariff on the "EU".

You have to look at each country individually

Trump is trying different stratgies, and weighing the pros and cons and adjusting as needed.

So how much does the UK tariff is? We have a trade surplus with them and Trump pit a 10% tariff on them

When other countries tariff us, not allowing our products into their markets on a free trade basis, but their products are sold freely here in america, yes,
Oh, ffs. As though the US has no quotas and tariffs on its imports.
we are supporting the worlds' economies.
The system designed by the US has made it the richest for the longest in recent history. What a victim it is.

That almost reads like you're tired of winning.

Almost...
On what planet do 491s tanking and prices of everything going up equal winning?

I don't know what the rates are, but yes, the UK also has a global tariff on imported goods, unless you have a trade deal with them, which it appears we do not.

They''re not, because Trump is doing them for entirely wrong and braindead reasons, on top of having zero plan for what happens when countries call his bluff. All tariffs do is hurt consumers in our country.

The US had plenty of tariffs before. Why pretend we didn't?

Correction, we take advantage of them and become rich from it. This is basically every billionaires playbook. Apple, Nike, etc, "supports" the economy of every country where they set up factories in too. Should they be bitching and moaning that the people they pay slave wages to aren't buying enough of their super expensive products?

Exactly. Where’s all the businesses supporting this?

Isn’t it for them?

But virtually none of them want it.

Why the **** is it happening?

Business as usual =$38T, Only Deep State & Stain want it to continue. $28T since ears. Apparently at least $1T every year stolen, wasted or incompetence. Real Americans want BIG change fast.

Not only do we want it "fixed" we expect those that frauded taxpayers hunted, outed, stripped, jailed and funds retrieved.

Insipid broke assess who own no stock and are on the dole were giddy about the turmoil and have presented this as ruination unfolding and certain. It’s down about 5% from its peak and pretty much around or above where it was 1-12 months ago.
