Fourth-quarter GDP revised down to just 0.7% growth; January core inflation was 3.1%

The PCE price index for January was expected to show headline inflation at 2.9% and core at 3.1%.

• GDP rose at a seasonally and inflation-adjusted annual rate of just 0.7% in the fourth quarter, according to a Commerce Department revision Friday.
• The first revision of the GDP reading was a sharp step down from the previous estimate of 1.4% and well below the Dow Jones consensus forecast for 1.5%.
• The core PCE inflation rose 0.4% in January and 3.1% on a 12-month basis. The ex-food and energy reading was 0.1 percentage point higher than December.

What is actually happening with the economy under Trump? He is restoring the American Economic System as defined in the US Constitution during President George Washington's time. There was no income tax. Revenue to run the country was made mostly through the tariff system. But our system of government with freedom for the people in the general population was and is hated by the globalist super rich who wanted to secure the world's resources for themselves, and restrict access to the people.
