OPEC may have more competition now from certain BRICS countries, but I wouldn't call them a paper tiger. When Saudi Arabia dropped the petrodollar, that hurt our currency value substantially.

If you really wanted to increase the flow of oil, we should lift all sanctions on Venezuela. Might even reduce the number of refugees coming into this country.

It's substantially more efficient to bring in the oil from Canada via pipeline rather than having it shipped across the ocean. Canada is also a more reliable ally than Saudi Arabia. I'd rather help their economy over that of Saudi Arabia or Venezuela for that matter.

The problems with Venezuela are pretty obvious. They don't have a legitimate government at this point.
