Trump Doesn't Know if He Has to Uphold the Constitution Because He's Not a Lawyer

His Oath of Office states that he must, "Preserve, Protect and Defend The Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic". He does NOT get pick and choose what parts of the Constitution he likes and does not like.
Of course, what you chose to leave omitted is that what the Constitution actually says isn’t always aligned with what our lower federal courts claim it says. And even SCOTUS sometimes fucks it up.

Remember, 15 years ago during the Tea Party movement the right would carry around little pocket Constitutions and dress up like colonial-era Americans. They don't even pretend to care about the Constitution anymore. Like Christianity, it's lost currency on the right. The entire movement is just Trump.

I came here expecting this thread, having it come from you is surprising.

Not a lawyer?

I guess he doesn’t recall his oath of office.
Wrong as always, HavingFits.

Even a jackass like you could take an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution but not know with certainty the many facets of what it does entail or which it might arguably entail. So, even a douchebag — like you — might seek the advice of lawyers, like the reasonable ones in the Trump Administration and the DOJ.

Wrong again.
trump knows more about the law than anyone......so he claims.

Has trump said he knows more about the law and the constitution than anyone?

Donald Trump has made numerous claims over the years asserting his superior knowledge in various domains, including the law and the Constitution.

For instance, in 2017, Trump claimed, "I know the details of taxes better than anybody... I know the details of health care better than most, better than most" . In 2015, he asserted, "I know more about courts than any human being on Earth," and declared himself "the king" of lawsuits .The HillAxios

However, these assertions have often been contradicted by his actions and statements. In a 2016 meeting with House Republicans, Trump expressed support for "Article XII" of the Constitution, despite the fact that the Constitution contains only seven articles . More recently, in a 2025 interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," when asked if it's his duty as president to uphold the Constitution, Trump responded, "I don't know," particularly in the context of due process rights for non-citizens .Vox+3Cato Institute+3Truthout+3Financial Times+4People.com+4The Daily Beast+4

These instances suggest a pattern where Trump's proclaimed expertise in legal and constitutional matters is not consistently supported by his public statements and actions.

Illegal aliens being deported do not have due process rights under either the 5th or 14th Amendment.

Glad to help
Bearing in mind that two year rule you and I previously discussed.

And I still say that it’s not “do not have due process rights.” I just note that what’s due (in such circumstances) is pretty minimal.

"Trump says on Meet The Press that he doesn't know if everyone deserves due process."

Do YOU think that "everyone" deserves due process, or are you just hiding behind someone else's tweet?
They operate as programmed.
I quote YOUR post and THIS is your reply? You need to pull your power plug and wait about 15 years.

Constitution. 9-0
They argue different.
Again, extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary actions.
Biden allowed in between 8 mllion to 13 million illegals.
You can't have 8 million to 13 million court cases for everyone of them.
We have, known - verified 100,000s of hardened criminals Biden willfully allowed in - and you guys are more interested in protecting them - than you own fellow citizens.
And that - is why you are going to lose in the midterms Only way you are not is if the economy goes way south.
Which of course you all hope it does - you hate Trump more than you care about anything else.

If you put his remarks into their full context instead of creatively dishonestly editing as the dishonest and malicious left and other TDS afflicted are so fond of doing, you will see that he was saying what the poorly informed believe is 'due process' may not be what his lawyers re advising him. The fact that a person is not in the country legally, i.e. with proper documentation, is in itself breaking the law and should be grounds for deportation without any other 'process' being necessary.

Do illegals deserve due process? No othe president has done it! So, who doesn’t know the constitution?

The Constitution makes no distinction. All “persons” deserve due process
