If you've paid attention to my posts, I've been critical of the GOP at the federal level for a long long time.

The current congress is a bunch of morons.

My congressman is Andy Biggs. He's great. A real smart hard-liner.

I saw him at our annual GOP meeting in January. He told me that when he announced that he was leaving (he's running for gov in AZ) all the democrats were very happy. He also said most republicans were too.

That tells you something.

We've let this thing go for decades.

People who make defending Trump their entire personality are just sock puppets. If you make your whole purpose in life to defend the ground someone else walks on - congratulations, you aren't living your own life, you are living someone elses.

I used to be like this to some degree. I remember someone once told me that they once took a good, long look at themselves and looked at anything in their belief system where they were a mouthpiece to someone else, and threw that stuff out into the garbage. I started to do so in the past year or so.

It is hard looking at yourself. It really is. It takes time, but once you go through with it, you won't be the same on the other side.

A shame that many of these people are in their 50s, 60s, and 70s, still living someone elses lie.

I never felt so free as I do now until I gave up the Team/Hivemind mentality. It's a true relief to just see things as they are and not feel the need to defend "my side" when "my side" is clearly in the wrong.

I was willing to overlook some of Trump's shortcomings and his bad policies or ideologies (Covid Vaccine & even his anti-2nd Amendment "red flag laws") as long as he was going to end these useless wars and bring jobs back to America. He's doing NONE OF THE ABOVE so I can no longer support him.

I take a lot of flack for it but as the old saying goes: "You only take flack when you're over the target."

I'm sorry to say this but it doesn't matter if you don't do anything wrong. There are plenty of instances of law-abiding citizens, conservatives, gun owners and others falsely labeled as potential domestic terrorists and treated like the enemy. If you're willing to give so much power to the government NOW, because you trust the current leaders, keep in mind that the current leaders aren't always going to be in power. Once rights and privacy are lost, you never get it back... and it just gets worse.

Slowly but surely we've been heading towards more mass surveillance, more authoritarianism, more trampling on the constitution and bill of rights. The problem is, many here are so duped by the 2 party illusion that they don't see what is actually going on in the bigger picture....and where it's all actually heading.

Remember when Trump was making all sorts of appealing campaign promises? I know ... it feels like it was 100 years ago. Brings back good memories, though. "The good ol' days" as we used to call it. Anyway, Trump has done another flip-flop in a long line of countless flip-flops. This time, he changed his mind about FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) which pretended to be all about "foreign intelligence" when, in reality, it was all about spying on Americans. Yeah ... THAT FISA.

Back in the good ol' days, Trump said this: “KILL FISA.” But those days are gone. Yeah ... the New Trump want's a "clean" version of FISA now. Who in Washington D.C. will assure that the new version is "clean?" I guess Trump STILL thinks Americans are just, plain stupid (of course, his cult followers ain't too bright) but most of us see through his Big Government nonsense.
