Remember when Trump was making all sorts of appealing campaign promises? I know ... it feels like it was 100 years ago. Brings back good memories, though. "The good ol' days" as we used to call it. Then he was elected and reneged, turned his coat, and became a warmongering neocon. Oh well ... that feeling of hope was nice while it lasted but we all should have known better.

Anyway, Trump has done another flip-flop in a long line of countless flip-flops. This time, he changed his mind about FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) which pretended to be all about "foreign intelligence" when, in reality, it was all about spying on Americans. Yeah ... THAT FISA.

Back in the good ol' days, Trump said this: “KILL FISA.” But those days are gone. Yeah ... the New Trump want's a "clean" version of FISA now. Who in Washington D.C. will assure that the new version is "clean?" I guess Trump STILL thinks Americans are just, plain stupid (of course, his cult followers ain't too bright) but most of us see through his Big Government nonsense.

Are there any more promises that Trump can break or has it been a clean sweep?

More leftist bullshit from trump? Color me shocked!

FISA was created by Congress and signed by President Carter, but it has been “weaponized” through executive and intelligence agency actions—notably the NSA’s use of Section 702—that have expanded its scope far beyond its original intent, enabling large-scale, warrantless surveillance of Americans.

I don't know how it can be "cleaned-up" given our do nothing congress.

You don't re-authorize it....HUUUUURDUUURRRRRR!

Congress reauthorizes it....Not the POTUS.
Riiiiight...And Mike Johnsonless could just let it expire....But he's worthless douchebag, so he'll whip the votes and get it through...The equally corrupt Senate will then fast track it, Trump the tool will sign it, and the spook state continues to have its little unconstitutional star chamber.

OK, so talk to your congress critters.

LOL....I'm sure it will do about as much good as you whining here no end about it.

Politically the Dems should unite in opposition to a clean bill. Since the last extension AI has moved far and the government has shown its ability to abuse power. I dont think in good conscience they can just extend. The dems are split on this as some are suggesting the last reforms were enough.

Move on.

Apparently a certain Administration (which we shall not name) -- wink wink -- wants to continue weaponizing it.

Does it matter? both sides abuse power to their benefit - always have always will.
