The trojan horse here is that if a state like Texas has the public option for one year, people are going to get it! So let's say 500,000 people have the public option in Texas in one year and Rick Perry decides to abandon it after one year -- the gov. just cost 500,000 people, i.e. 1% of the vote, their health insurance.

Sorry, but this is politics and it doesn't belong in here. Either grow a fucking set and put the public option in or don't have it in there. This "pull out" method works just as well as the one Iraq worked in 2004.

You are right. It is an end around. Knowing that they can't pass this piece of shit legislation without the "opt out" option, which, in fact, will be no option, they are enticing the fools to believe that the states will be able to opt out in a year. Because they have helped to make the private option so expensive and are fining/taxing any company that doesn't play their game, companies will be forced into the public option (exactly what they want) and there will be no option for the state to extract itself. With the number of companies forced into the public option. We will then be told, "America loves our plan just as we said they would". From there it is only a matter of time before the government owns the industry and your health. You will have lost the freedom of choice regarding your health care.

Within twenty years, they will force us into the single payer plan.

Anyone who has been paying attention understands that Medicare denies a higher percentage of claims than private insurance companies do,
