Jesus Christ suffered death on the cross for our sake - he carried his cross until the bitter end - he did not stray from death. Forsaken by all but a few - he "fulfilled" the Law and the Prophets. By carrying his cross, following his path and loving God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind - the Keys of the Kingdom could be given to you or anyone else - BECAUSE THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS HAVE BEEN FULFILLED BY HIS SACRIFICE.

But.... IT's NOT EASY. It's not a "magic trick" and stating two verses out of 31,000 verses in the Bible will not grant most people "salvation". It doesn't work that way and never has. Will you be "damned for eternity" if you don't? From my understanding, likely not. But your path to true salvation and the "keys to the Kingdom" may take longer and may require more effort than others who have been doing it consistently throughout their lifetimes. And be careful of your words and actions to others - Judging and condemning others who you know nothing about is an "adversary" to the Spirit of God. If Jesus Christ himself would not judge and condemn others during his ministry on Earth why would any follower of Christ feel that they are given the authority to do so?

I tell you this - there are people who have never been given the direct word of God or the teachings of Jesus Christ but follow his path better than some who call themselves Christians. This is what Jesus taught:

This also refers to others who may have not been taught the ways of God thoroughly ("Invite anyone you can") but by Grace (Chosen) their actions, hearts and souls shined enough to cover their nakedness.

When I was a child, Jesus was respected among all religions - even Jewish folks I knew back then would regard him as a "Prophet" but not the Messiah - that is fair enough - more than enough considering the circumstances that followed his crucifixion and the amount of absolute nonsense directed at Jewish people by Christians at the time and by Christians for the majority of the past 2000 years.

Jesus never blamed the Jews or even the Pharisees directly for his condemnation. He first blamed the ones closest to him - his very own Apostles - primarily Judas and Peter, to a lesser extent. "My Kingdom is not of this world for had my Kingdom have been of this world, my followers would have fought to prevent my condemnation"

It's unfortunate now - due primarily to a "great divide" between radical right wing evangelicals and Judaism - Jews no longer consider Jesus a "Prophet" but they now regard Jesus as the false prophet who has done the most damage to Judaism in all of history. (Essentially the Anti-Christ of Judaism). Obviously this isn't true but had Christians acted the way Jesus taught them to act with others over the course of the past 2000 years, this scenario would have likely never have happened.

The Catholic Church was established in very turbulent times - called "Catholic" by Christians as early as 100 AD. Why did they name the Church Catholic instead of "Christian" or "The Church of Christ"? Although Jesus was select and somewhat private during his ministry in respect to who he would spread his Gospel to - this was done primarily for him to avoid being condemned as a heretic - but among his final words to his apostles - he instructed them to go out to all nations. (As was also proclaimed in the book of Isaiah) His church - the house of his Father - is the church of the creator of the Universe. Therefore, it is named Catholic - which means "Universal" - ALL ARE WELCOMED - Jews and Gentiles alike.

It became the official religion of the Roman Empire in 381 AD - further validating Jesus' prediction that he would rebuild his Temple in 3 days (His body) and later on his Church in 3 "Spiritual Days" akin to 300 years after the fall of the Temple of Jerusalem.

Jesus made it clear that his Spiritual Body would be his Church. His spirit dwelled within the church, its Popes, Saints for approximately 1000 years (as foretold in the book of Revelation) until the Great Schism of 1054. Another important note to add that is frequently missed and misunderstood is that "The Great Tribulation" as professed in the Book of Revelation, could have happened immediately after the crucifixion of Jesus:

First, people of faith live out reality and truth. The Biblical story of salvation and redemption is a philosophical and theological presentation of mankind and our purpose. It has incredible depth for those who are truly enlightened.

Some choose to pick it apart and then mix it up with their own conclusions. This resulting befuddlement serves no purpose. It is better to present what is right and powerful with one's own personal way/beliefs--and leave those with Biblical beliefs to do the same. Well, that didn't happen until 750 years later. When Isaiah wrote about Cyrus being anointed and Israel being God's servant they hadn't rejected Jesus.
