Zone1 "Woke" vs. Jesus: Some of the Many Stark Differences

There are numerous stark differences between modern "woke" ideology and the teachings of Jesus and His apostles.

For starters. Jesus believed in God and said God was His Father. The vast majority of woke liberals don't believe in a supreme being.

Jesus and His apostles taught the Earth was created, but woke liberals think the idea that the Earth was created is backward and unscientific. (It's actually quite scientific, whereas macroevolution is what is backward and unscientific.)

Jesus and His apostles promised He would return, i.e., the Second Coming. Woke liberals view the Second Coming as a myth.

Jesus taught that Satan is a real being and that he is a threat to all people. Every woke liberal I've encountered thinks it's silly to believe there is such a being as Satan. They've expressed the view that believing in Satan is as silly as believing in the boogey man.

Jesus believed in the Old Testament as the inspired word of God. I've never met or heard of a woke liberal who believes the Old Testament is the word of God. Every woke liberal I've encountered thinks the Old Testament is unreliable, bigoted, homophobic, etc. They think the same thing of the New Testament.

Jesus taught that marriage is only between a man and a woman. Woke leftists view this teaching as bigoted, intolerant, and homophobic.

Jesus taught that looking upon a woman other than your wife and lusting after her is sinful, which obviously makes pornography sinful. Yet, liberal groups have filed lawsuits against states that have taken modest steps to prevent minors from accessing porn sites. One woke leftist here has called those steps "nanny state." I'd bet good money that a large percentage of woke liberals view porn.

Jesus's apostles, who communicated with him in person after He was resurrected and received revelation from Him through the Holy Ghost, taught that sex before/outside marriage is a serious sin that will prevent a person from entering the kingdom of heaven. Woke liberals view this teaching as archaic and impractical.

The Apostle Paul, echoing God's teachings in the Old Testament, condemned homosexuality as unnatural and listed it among the sins that will keep people out of the kingdom of heaven. Woke liberals claim homosexuality is normal and innocent.

The Gospel of Luke says that John the Baptist "leaped for joy" in his mother's womb when Jesus's mother, Mary, greeted John's mother. This clearly implies personhood for the preborn John the Baptist. The Old Testament stresses the value of babies in the womb. Exodus 21 even says that if a man strikes a pregnant woman, even while fighting another man, and causes her to give birth prematurely (not a miscarriage, but premature birth), and thereby causes injury to the baby and/or to the mother, he is to be punished. If the baby alone is injured, the offender is to be punished. Yet, woke liberals support unrestricted elective abortion, even in the final week of pregnancy.

So essentially your argument is that religious people are religious and do religious things, and "woke" people don't. Wow.

Yeah, woke people do a lot of things religiously.

Killing unborn babies is one thing. Mutilating the ones that manage to be born is another.

Their god is very pleased with them.

Holy STRAWMAN, Batman! You need to get back to the batshit crazy cave!

Huh! I guess all those religious leaders who were at the front of the civil rights movement were just pretending, eh?

I guess all those religious radicals at the head of the abolitionist movement were just pretending, eh?

Have you ever even been to a black church, ignoramus?

They are everywhere.

You just don't like their brand of Christianity, that's all.

You want a Christianity that's cool with a serial adulterer and prolific thief president who bears false witness against others several times a day. Like you just did.

Jesus never said a word about gays, but he said a LOT about hypocrites.

The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common. With great power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all. There was no needy person among them, for those who owned property or houses would sell them, bring the proceeds of the sale, and put them at the feet of the apostles, and they were distributed to each according to need.Acts:32-35

"to each according to need." Right out of the Marxist playbook.

Jesus was a commie!

"But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’

“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

“Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

“Then he will answer them, saying,
Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” — Matthew 25:31-46.

"Woke" vs. Jesus: Some of the Many Stark Differences

It is sickening to see political factions attempting to portray Jesus as being on their side and against the other side.

That is the most religiously antithetical thing you can do.

And so long as the Religious Right embraces a sick, corrupt, evil person like Donald Trump, they will repel spiritual people.

I don't know if you have noticed, but church attendance has been dropping off a cliff, and it really plunged during Trump's first term.

What do you think will happen now?

We were told about this same effect happening in Europe two centuries ago:

The unbelievers of Europe attack the Christians as their political opponents rather than as their religious adversaries; they hate the Christian religion as the opinion of a party much more than as an error of belief; and they reject the clergy less because they are the representatives of the Deity than because they are the allies of government.

In Europe, Christianity has been intimately united to the powers of the earth. Those powers are now in decay, and it is, as it were, buried under their ruins. The living body of religion has been bound down to the dead corpse of superannuated polity; cut but the bonds that restrain it, and it will rise once more. I do not know what could restore the Christian church of Europe to the energy of its earlier days; that power belongs to God alone; but it may be for human policy to leave to faith the full exercise of the strength which it still retains.

Not every brand of Christianity includes the book of Revelation (singular) in their Bibles.

As for Jesus talking about the end times, that can be found in Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

Do they cheat on three wives? Do they sleep with women (plural) in the porn industry and then hawk Bibles?

From my perspective, I believe that Jesus will come within the next 58 years. Those who choose not to believe will then come to a realization of the truth. The wicked will be destroyed at his coming. A person who is 20 could likely live to see his coming. It is a time to prepare for his coming. Don't let disbelief bring you down.

The Bible has been weaponized to support slavery.

The Bible has been weaponized to support segregation.

The Bible has been weaponized to throw gays in prison.

The Bible has been weaponized to keep gays from having their marriages recognized the the STATE (Caesar) for government cash and prizes we all get for being married..

Blue Jesus: I want you to listen to me. I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Magdalene...

Red Jesus: I have a wide stance!

Blue Jesus: We have to pass the Law so we can find out what's in it.

Red Jesus: I will not heal you, blind man, until you show me some ID.

Blue Jesus: I have a pen and a direct phone line to my Father, and I am not afraid to use them.

Red Jesus: Muslims suck, and I'm pretty sure Doubting Thomas is a fag!

Blue Jesus: I invented cocaine as a way of telling you that you make too much money.

Red Jesus: Look at these hands! Look at these feet! I know more than anyone what torture is, and waterboarding is not torture.

Blue Jesus wears a WWBD (What Would Biden Do?) bracelet.

Red Jesus: And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed." But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, "Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us." But He answered and said, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

Moral of the story: Red Jesus would support building a wall to keep out aliens so they don't suck up holy resources.

Blue Jesus: And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.

Moral of the story: Blue Jesus hates profit, and believes health care should be free.

Ding, me, and all the Christians on this board are not 'literal' believers in the bibles being true
Then why bother? If the Bible isn't true, do you pick and choose what is valid according to your level of scientific intelligence, or your common sense, then disregard the parts that don't fit into your 4 dimensional understanding of our universe?

True or false:
Jonah 1:17 "Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights".
Did Jonah spend 3 days in a fish? Not just any fish, but one specifically prepared by God to house a human? And if God can't modify a fish, then surely He couldn't create a universe or life, so does that all go in the false column too?

If your answer is false, then Jesus Christ is a liar, who falsified information to deceive His disciples.

Matthew 12:39 for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
^
Christ confirmed the Jonah episode. Was He telling the truth or not?

The Jehovah's Witnesses predicted the Second Coming at least five times.

Then, red-faced, they finally stopped doing that.

There was another movement (the Millerites) which was told by a preacher Jesus was coming back in 1843. The followers sold all their possessions and showed up on a hilltop in New Hampshire. When the appointed day and hour arrived...bupkus.

Some of them left the movement, but the preacher said, "Oh wait. I did my math wrong. Jesus is coming on October 24, 1844."

Having sold all their possessions and being penniless thanks to this asshole, some stuck around for the second coming sequel. "Fool me twice..."

This movement is still around. They hired an ad agency and rebranded themselves as The Seventh Day Adventists.

there are forgeries and fallacies on nearly every page of the christian bible written 400 years past the events occurrence without an archive of a single document they claim to have used to write their book.

made-up just as the moses 10 commandments that never existed or were ever read by anyone.

"The wicked will be destroyed at his coming."

This is exactly why Doomsday Cults disgust me. And not just religious ones.

Every Doomsday Cult looks forward with glee at the suffering the human race will experience. And they all believe they will be sitting on some special perch while they stroke themselves into a state of euphoria as they watch the world and people burn.

Doomsday Cult members hate their lives, and they want the world punished for it.

I am not prophesying but based on my studies of scripture that is my best guess as to when Jesus will return based on my person belief. You don't have to agree. I understand that there have been those who have claimed to know the day and the hour of our Lord's second coming but I don't claim to know that. I just feel that the time is drawing nigh and my best guest from studying the signs of the times and what has been prophesied in scripture is that it will come within that time frame. It is not a prophesy but just my best guess!

Why do you suppose that people believe that the wicked will be destroyed at his second coming? Why do you think they will be burned at his coming? Let me tell you. The reason it is believed is because it is stated in scripture. Do you believe in the scriptures? Would you like me to quote them for you?

The issue is not what the Scriptures say.

The issue is what bloodthirsty deluded doomsday adherents say.

The terrible ending of the world has been predicted by easily excitable people literally since the day Jesus left the planet.

I hereby predict the world will end on 31 December 2144. The cool part about that far-off prediction is that I will die 100 percent confident I am correct. ;)

this could probably be best summed up by Jesus in his discourse on the sheep and the goats (Matthew 25:31-46), when he explains that he shall come again to judge all people and will look favorably on those who welcomed a stranger because in doing so, they welcomed him.

welcoming strangers seems a bit woke, doesnt it?
I'll stay on the woke side, since loving my neighbor should be the same as loving God.
