An SKS is a semi-automatic long rifle used primarily for hunting, marksmanship and ceremonial purposes today, not an AKA-style assault rifle. While it shoots the same round as the AK47 (7.62 x 39, along with many other guns), that is about all the two guns share in common. Notably, the SKS has box-style magazine that has 1/3 the capacity of an AK47, and 1/15 the rate of fire of an AK47. Because of the magazine type and capacity, the 60-second rate of fire is approximately 1 shot every 2 seconds.
