The facts are the US has 4% of the world's population and 20% of the deaths and the US was the best prepared nation in the world to deal with a pandemic according to John Hopkins. That might seem crazy but when you consider that the one most factor important factor in fighting an epidemic is how well the country complies with measures to reduce transmission then it's not crazy at all. The only way you get compliance is leadership from the top down. Instead of the president mocking people wearing mask in his rallies he should be encouraging it by word and example. While Donald Trump was proclaiming the virus was the flu last Feb and mockingly those that disagreed, South Korea was distributing tens of thousands of test kits, sending troops all over the country to start testing/contact tracing/quarantining. Today deaths are very rare and there are only a few cases but the people are still wearing masks and they are testing/contact tracing every breakout. Except for isolated cases all schools and business are functioning as normal and their unemployment rate is about half of ours.

Japan with a population 124 million has had 1616 deaths in last 7 months. They had a very different approach than South Korea. The Prime Minster told the people to use quarantining and social distancing and they did. No one told them they had to wear a mask but only a few days after the prime ask people to beat virus on the streets of Tokyo there almost no uncovered faces. Japan business and schools are open as usually with exceptions. The unemployment rate is 1/3 what is in the US.

The proof is in pudding; preventive measures do work but only if the public follows them but that will never happen without the support of the president.

• That quarantining people that are infected with an airborne contagious disease is not an effective method to reducing transmission.
• That putting distance between infected and non-infected people does not work.
• That wearing a face mask or a shield does not reduce the amount of viral particles being transmitted by an infected person.
• That hand washing does not kill the virus.
• That testing/contact tracing/quarantining does not work.

There is plenty of proof that the CDC guidelines work (see links). In addition to a preponderance of scientific evidence we have strong evidence within this epidemic that they work. Checkout South Korea who created a massive program of testing/contract tracing/quarantining, undoubtable the best in world. They have about 20% of the US population and less than 1% of the deaths. Then there's Singapore and Hong Kong who relied primarily on masks both of which have out performed the US. While Donald Trump was proclaiming the virus was the flu last Feb and mockingly those that disagreed, South Korea was distributing tens of thousands of test kits, sending troops all over the country to start testing/contact tracing/quarantining. Today deaths are very rare and there are only a few cases but the people are still wearing masks and they are testing/contact tracing every breakout. Except for isolated cases all schools and business are functioning as normal and their unemployment rate is about half of ours.

Japan with a population 124 million has had 1616 deaths in last 7 months. They had a very different approach than South Korea. The Prime Minster told the people to use quarantining and social distancing and they did. No one told them they had to wear a mask but only a few days after the prime ask people to beat virus on the streets of Tokyo there almost no uncovered faces. Japan business and schools are open as usually with exceptions. The unemployment rate is 1/3 what is in the US.

The proof is in pudding; preventive measures do work but only if the public follows them but that will never happen without the support of the president.

So if you tell younger healthy adults there is no need to wear masks, social distance or avoid large gatherings, more of them will become infected and spread it to those that are affected. Consider the results of such a policy, more cases, more deaths, more people staying away from retail establishment because they fear being exposed. Then we'll be back in a situation we were in last April with states closing businesses and no body wants that.

The honest truth is countries where the population acts in lock step following the rules have less cases, less deaths, less school and business closures which results in life returning to normal a lot faster. There is no easy way out of an airborne epidemic.

The problem is that you can't prove any of your assumptions about this disease. The top medical people can't figure it out, but thank God Trump with all his flaws has enough sense to push hard for a vaccine, instead of being satisfied with the status quoe.

And what made you think the vaccine can eradicated the Coronavirus? We have vaccines for the flu yet we see thousands of flu deaths each year.

It is a very bad idea to push and pressure before the proper approval because people will not have the confidence. It’s a new vaccine and sure not going to take one.

Trump's rhetoric about the vaccine is just plane nuts. First of all, he was not instrumental in creating the vaccine. The only thing he did was guarantee the manufacture a market as if none would existed. His comment about having the trucks all ready to go to send the vaccine across American is insane. The vaccine will be release to various groups, carefully monitoring for side effects. As the manufacturer and the FDA gain more confidence, in the vaccine more will be released. At best we are looking a 3rd or 4th quarter before we seen any results and that is only if we get far better public participation than we have had with the flu vaccine which is only about 45%. Since surveys have shown up to 50% of the public has no interest in rushing to get inoculated, I doubt that we will get good participation next year. It the vaccine as reported requires two doses to become effective, masks, social distancing, and restrictions on businesses and schools will be with use for years.

Hopefully it was the 33k that got deleted when they were under subpoena. When documents and emails are under federal subpoena its not up to Hillary to decide they were personal.
