Apparently he was accomplished enough to be offered a senior Union command. Perhaps the lefty revisionist history you learned didn't teach you that Lee was a top student at West Point, an engineer, an excellent military officer for 32 years with battle experience, and superintendent of West Point. The ONLY thing taught by lefties about Lee is that he fought for the Confederacy.
Back to the cowards pulling down and stomping something that couldn't fight back. I fly several flags of the Confederacy at my house on a rotating basis. I'm yet to see any of those pussies step up and try to take them down. Perhaps that's because they know the owner will "fight" back.
Yes he was a great military leader before he turned against the USA. Most likely history will remember Nidal Hasan for his shooting at Fort Hood more than his decorated military career as well.
And I don't get your 2nd part there. Are you making a call to violence here?
Who Lee?
The legend of the Confederate leader’s heroism and decency is based in the fiction of a person who never existed.
The strangest part about the continued personality cult of Robert E. Lee is how few of the qualities his admirers profess to see in him he actually possessed.
The myth of Lee goes something like this: He was a brilliant strategist and devoted Christian man who abhorred slavery and labored tirelessly after the war to bring the country back together.
There is little truth in this. Lee was a devout Christian, and historians regard him as an accomplished tactician. But despite his ability to win individual battles, his decision to fight a conventional war against the more densely populated and industrialized North is considered by many historians to have been a fatal strategic error.
So he was a dumb fuck redneck.
