Jan. 6th, The Law, and Nancy Pelosi's Dereliction of Duty

We need the House to sort thru the bullshit and nail the ones responsible for denying the two EARLY requests for the NG.
You need to be able to distinguish between NG requests BEFORE J6 and those made during J6.

The FACT that Irving made the call NOT to request the NG as Sund requested, based on Pelosi's policy proves what happened to Sund's early NG request. What is murkier is what happened to Trump's early "Fill the request" order. Did Bowser request the NG and then changed her mind?
Bowser had no bearing on Trump’s “request” for NG of his Sec of Defense

None

SUND supposedly requested Irving ask for NG support. It went no further.

Irving had no authority to demand OR deny it in any case

Sund contradicts claims made by officials after Wednesday's assault on Capitol Hill. Sund's superiors said previously that the National Guard and other additional security support could have been provided, but no one at the Capitol requested it.

Sund told the Post that House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving was concerned with the "optics" of declaring an emergency ahead of the protests and rejected a National Guard presence. He says Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger recommended that he informally request the Guard to be ready in case it was needed to maintain security.

Like Sund, Irving and Stenger have also since resigned their posts.

Sund says he requested assistance six times ahead of and during the attack on the Capitol. Each of those requests was denied or delayed, he says.

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser also wanted a light police presence at the Capitol. She reportedly wanted to avoid a similar scenario as last summer, when federal forces responded to demonstrators opposed to police abuses who assembled near the White House.

During Wednesday's violence, Bowser requested, and received, a limited force of 340 from the D.C. National Guard. Those troops were unarmed and their job was to help with traffic flow — not law enforcement, which was meant to be handled by D.C. police.

Sund says during a conference call with several law enforcement officials at about 2:26 p.m., he asked the Pentagon to provide backup.
Senior Army official Lt. Gen. Walter E. Piatt, director of the Army Staff, said on the call he couldn't recommend that Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy authorize deployment, Sund and others on the call told the Post. Piatt reportedly said, "I don't like the visual of the National Guard standing a police line with the Capitol in the background," the Post reported.

I think we can agree that we need the House to have a hearing on why the NG was NOT deployed as requested by BOTH Sund and Trump. If Trump nixed them, that is bad. If Pelosi and Bowser nixed them, that is bad.
The Capitol Police Board didn’t think they’d be necessary. We never needed the National Guard to defend Congress from the losing party before.

Pelosi has no authority over the NG. Defense of the country and its institutions is an executive duty.

Learn how to read before posting lies.
1. Read Bowser's letter denying the NG request
2. Read that Irving denied Sund's request. (Irving was lead on the Capitol Police Board and reported to Pelosi)

Sund made the request to activate the National Guard two days before the attack, but said he believes Irving denied the request after consulting with Stenger."
One of Eletra’s link had SUND quoted saying he had not requested NG
I have one link in this thread that links to a .pdf of the Capitol Police timeline. That is the only link Lesh can be referring to. It shows 4 requests.

One at 1304, 2nd at 1309, 3rd at 1322, the fourth at 1349, the 5th at 1403.

At 1410 the Capitol Police Board declares an emergency. National Guard are now authorized to be deployed within Jurisdiction of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, the Legislative Branch of Government.

Pelosi was responsible for security of the Capitol. She supervised Sgt. at Arms Irving, who was lead of the Capitol Police Board, who supervise the Capitol Police. They can "request" the DC NG if they want to. Same with Mayor Bowser. She can "request" the NG if she wants to. Someone requested the NG because Trump is quoted as saying "fill the request".

You do know that governors control their NG units?
(not the Pentagon, that's why TX governor Abbott has his NG on the border)

“No one requested it” is far different from denying it (which none of these people had the authority to do).

Anyone can request a thing. Whether that request is honored is another issue

None of these people had the power to say no to NG support

DURING THE RIOT

You moron

Exactly right. But the simple fact that Trump wanted to protect his rally from trouble and said "fill the NG request" shows to me that he would not support a Capitol Riot, aka "an insurrection".

So you’re saying that Trump didn’t think that his supporters would get violent either.

So we are in agreement, no one thought that the MAGA crowd would resort to such barbaric violence.

Everyone was wrong. They were more than happy to do so.

Sund can not request the National Guard/Federal Troops unless it is in writing. Can't get it in writing during an emergency. Not enough time.

An Emergency must be declared, putting the Emergency Plan to Protect the Capitol (EPCC) into effect

The authorization to deploy Federal Troops (Executive assistance) is written in the EPCC (which is classified and will never be released to the public for security reasons). The EPCC is now the governing document authorizing the National Guard to be deployed outside the president's jurisdiction, into the jurisdiction of the Speaker of the House.

The Barbaric violence perpetrated by the very few has not been proven to be done by MAGA. Nobody defends the Barbaric behavior of the very few. Everyone calls for a trial of those that participated in Barbaric behavior.

Trump MAGA supporters were all peaceful.

Next time a black Biden voter commits a crime, every Democrat in the country must be arrested and thrown in Jail without a trial. That is, if we apply the Marener reasoning.

DURING THE RIOT
You moron
First and foremost, my links are all to .gov sites were the law is written. Second, my only other link is to a pdf file that shows the timeline.

During the riot? How about giving us a time. You need to at the very least show us you have at least that knowledge. Otherwise you are doing nothing more than deflecting from the truth.

During the riots, before the riots, multiple requests.

It was more than a few and they were definitely proven to be MAGA.
No, it was a few, in a crowd of tens of thousands, it is a few, relative to the crowd size.

Those that were barbaric were a small handful of the few arrested.
But, you can go ahead and quote, link, make sure you post their names, and tell us how you know who they are and if they are MAGA, GOP, or simply people out for a good time.

And it is proper to point out, ANTIFA and BLM were in the crowd, some of which were barbaric.

1. Was not a denial.

Which words did you not understand? "Irving did not float the idea by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). Instead, he rejected then-U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund’s request to activate the National Guard based on what he believed would be Pelosi’s position on the matter, Pickle said."
