Zone1 The word Catholic is not in the Bible. Once Saved Always Saved is not there either

Goodbye

You love games rather than seeking truth

I don't consider it a game for you to back up what you said. Apparently you do.

Like so many others, it's easy to say something. And most just say 'that is so insightful'.

Until asked to support what they say. Then it is seen to be nothing but smoke.

So, if you want to disappear, goodbye, in the smoke, that's up to you.

Your accusations mean nothing when you run and hide.

In the video (You Tube) called "Man Shot, saw Hell"

He mentions how, when he was falling into Hell, all the good things God had given him fell away from him...

So yeh, God can give you all kinds of good things, and he does. He gives everyone good things, even the poor and suffering (which is all of us, really)

And then, if you disobey Him, He can and does take it away...

I pray people do not presume on God's "mercy" which many think is a license to sin (be uncharitable... be untruthful... whatever)

Jesus was sent to the Jews but His apostles, like Paul, went to the Gentiles, as Jesus said to spread the Gospel to everyone.

I say the most important thing Jesus said - or one of them, I should say - is Mt 25:31-46

Basically, that if you don't treat "the least of" His people well (feed the needy, etc) you will end up in Hell ("eternal punishment").

And again, the Bible throughout says we are judged by what we DO, not what we believe or claim to believe. If you really believe in Jesus, you will do what He says...

which is another scripture "If you love Me you will keep My commandments"
If one is guided by the Holy Spirit serving God and Christ become a very easy lifestyle. No need to agonize over it. We are told to "study, to show ourselves approved, rightly dividing the word. That's where my focus is. Doing the Lord's work has become automatic for me.

Carefully read the "the least of these" narrative. You'll find that those being addressed weren't aware that they were serving Christ by serving others.

It's very hypocritical of Protestants to bring up Catholic Church history. It's saying that Catholics are big sinners but they are not.

Right.

Catholics actually sin much less than Protestants because they actually believe we are judged by our actions, which we are according to SCRIPTURE

Jesus said that unless we do penance, we will perish (in Hell). Lk 13:3

Protestants do not do penance. They think they are forgiven and cleansed of the residue left by their sin (assuming they believe there IS any residue) as soon as they say, "Sorry, God."

Well, that is just not so. They are disobeying Jesus when they ignore doing penance.
There's little difference between Catholics and Protestants.

I noticed that-- that the ones serving Christ (in that psg) weren't aware that it was Him they were serving... That's probably because most humans do not exactly remind us of Jesus! :oops:That's on us, but we... well, as Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do."

I used to give money to homeless people and probably will continue to give them small amounts, but one day i recalled this scripture psg and decided that I really need to seek out other believers and help them FIRST.. (kind of like Trump wants to help America first). I mean, I don't want to support someone killingthemselves w/ cigarettes and booze and God knows what. You never know when someone is spending money on that... so yeh, I am going to try to seek out those who are trying to follow Christ, whether Catholic or otherwise.

What?

That is definitely NOT true. For one, in the past when I was in need of help (long story) it was the Catholics who helped me. But I don't want to get into a C v P conversation... tired of those, frankly. I mean, I feel like I'm talking to a wall sometimes here. I think a big %age of people here just want to vent... or hear themselves talk or a combination.. I'm here to learn and to teach others what I know but most people don't want to know what I know... Protestants think they've already found all they need to learn about Jesus and "Catholics" don't want to hear about theVatican being corrupt... they don't realize that the V being corrupt doesn't mean the Catholic Church is corrupt because they are 2 different things at this time in history... but anyhow...

Also, the biggest difference btwn C and P is that the Cs have the Real Presence of Christ in their Churches 24/7. I hope you check this out. It's amazing to be in thetangible presence of the ONLY One who understands every nook and cranny of your being...

and loves you anyway!

And really, my words here don't begin to explain the Real Presence.. (I'm surprised the Real Presence is still there in the Vatican-controlled [regular] Catholic Churches! WHEW! There for awhile I was listneing to Sedevacantists who said not to go to a NO Church! I'm glad I didn't listen (for long). I missed the Real Presence so badly... Whenever I have a doubt about some scripture or another, I think of the Real Presence and all questions and doubts vanish.

I'm more about "working out my own salvation" than anything else. That means that I must pay particular attention to myself.

You must do what you know to do and I don't know what that is, but I'll keep you in prayer. I actually try to pray for everyone (sometimes forget to, though)

I added things to that last post maybe 2 paragraphs..

What I added to the last post is

I just realized what you are saying (or maybe saying)

The best place fo someone to work out his salvation is in the Real Presence. I can't explain (well) what happens there, but ... well, I feel that if people don't do this, they jeopardize their salvation. I felt AWFUL so much of the time when I was abstaining from going to a Church because a Sedevacantist told me the novus ordo Church is full of heretics, which it IS... but Jesus promised to be with us until the end - Mt 2820

And Jesus keeps his promises

despite *&^%$s who try to destroy His Church..

That said, not everyone at novus ordo Churches is a heretic (at least not knowingly).

When you get ready to back up what you say, get back with me.

Till then you're just a mouth writing a check his a** can't handle.

Keep breathing that smoke.

Bingo. Faith comes first. Faith is not simple belief, even the demons believe, and tremble. Faith results in action. A child on the side of a swimming pool can believe all day long that his dad will catch him if he jumps, but one who puts his faith in his dad will jump.

No, actions do not save you. We do not forget the crowd that clamors for God to recognize their actions but are thrown away from Him because He never knew them.

Yeh, Protestants are not terribly self-aware much of the time. I've met some open minded ones, and they were a joy to behold. Too bad I didn't get contact info from this one I'm thinking of, which was something like 6 years ago.

But anyhow, they do the following (anti-Catholic protesters, that is):

1) accuse Catholics of following the pope and not Jesus. Then they quote their pastor's talking points ad nauseum instead of thinking for themselves/interpreting scripture for themselves...

2) bring up the Inquisition incessantly (which they never seem to fully understand) and act like Catholics did horrible things to people (most of which stories are false), but conveniently forget (or don't bother to learn in the first place) that Protestants in history murdered Catholics just for celebrating Mass..

3) claim to go by the Bible but believe things that are (surprise, surprise) not in the Bible

As to that last, I mostly speak of Once Saved Always Saved, which if one believes and lives by that false doctrine, one will end up in Hell. That's because all through the Bible, which I have actually read, it says we will be judged by our actions. Read the Book of Revelation. Luther was the idiot who came up with this "sin all you want, you can't lose your salvation" garbage...

So they follow a man and not Jesus, which is what they accuse Catholics of...
The vow a " Catholic " takes is to One Catholics c and Apostlic Church. Apostles wrote th Bible in part. Kind of pertinent.

The Roman church is not hated because of Him. It is hated because it is opposed to Him.
Interesting belief. You just condemned over a billion people - who are the body of Christ and are the Church - to opposing Christ.

One trait of a universal church is unity. You seem to be sorely lacking that trait.

There will never be a time in eternity when we do not need the Blood of Christ. Do you believe that?
The body and blood of Christ. It’s called the real presence of Christ.

No, I haven't condemned anyone. There are plenty of believers in the Roman Church. As there are plenty of non-believers also. But their doctrine is opposed to Christ.

The same can be said today of many Protestant churches.

Unity is always based upon something. Local church membership is not it. Unity is based upon being in Christ which comes from faith and being born again.
