Zone1 The word Catholic is not in the Bible. Once Saved Always Saved is not there either

I am amazed at religious and religious beliefs, having realized long ago that it is all made up. There is so much variety and so many belief systems from the primate peoples to the educated now. If I were to pick one I like reincarnation belief systems, that sounds like not exactly fun but then when does it stop or does it. Live and lead a good life folks, you're not going to know you are dead, so laugh now.

PS I was raised Catholic and was an altar boy when Latin was still the language of use at Mass.

Yeh, Protestants are not terribly self-aware much of the time. I've met some open minded ones, and they were a joy to behold. Too bad I didn't get contact info from this one I'm thinking of, which was something like 6 years ago.

But anyhow, they do the following (anti-Catholic protesters, that is):

1) accuse Catholics of following the pope and not Jesus. Then they quote their pastor's talking points ad nauseum instead of thinking for themselves/interpreting scripture for themselves...

2) bring up the Inquisition incessantly (which they never seem to fully understand) and act like Catholics did horrible things to people (most of which stories are false), but conveniently forget (or don't bother to learn in the first place) that Protestants in history murdered Catholics just for celebrating Mass..

3) claim to go by the Bible but believe things that are (surprise, surprise) not in the Bible

As to that last, I mostly speak of Once Saved Always Saved, which if one believes and lives by that false doctrine, one will end up in Hell. That's because all through the Bible, which I have actually read, it says we will be judged by our actions. Read the Book of Revelation. Luther was the idiot who came up with this "sin all you want, you can't lose your salvation" garbage...

So they follow a man and not Jesus, which is what they accuse Catholics of...
is the word Protestant in the Bible?

Unity in the Body of Christ does not depend on the name over the door of the building where you meet with your local believers. Jesus asked the Father that His would be one, not that they would all belong to one denomination.
We had one "denomination" --rather CHURCH.

But the lawless Martin Luther, excommunicated formally, didn't want that, left the ONE True Church and called himself starting another one, as if the original Church founded by Christ was not good enough.. Luther is likely in Hell, but that doesn't stop people from choosing him and his beliefs over Christ and His Church

You haven't experienced the REAL (as in NOT made up) Presence of Christ.

How do you think the Catholic Church has survived through all it has been through? The Real Presence...

It's real

It's the same thing as what the Apostles experienced when they were in the Presence of Christ on Earth

Do you think Jesus only wanted such a great GIFT for the 12?

No, He wants what they had for everyone.

You're making my point. The Catholic Church of Luther's day had become so corrupt and so entrenched in that corruption that there was no bringing it back in line with the Scriptures. He had, therefore, no choice but to publicly walk away from it. He is but one of many who followed suit when they realized the same thing. Instead of acknowledging how far it had deviated from Scripture, the Church tried to eliminate him, and today we still see the remnants of the hatred that drove many of the faithful out.
