The Supreme Court considers Trump's Tariffs

When was the last time we had smart negotiations with anyone before Trump? Even if the left thinks Trump is ineffective, they can't possibly believe we have done a good job on global trade?

I dont know. We've been taking it up the ass for awhile, and maybe the way trump is going about it isnt very good either, but we need to have fair trade, by SOME mechanism.

You like paying for for things?
I think it is funny you care about prices after you caused them to skyrocket in so short a time. Also, the inflation you predicted due to tariffs never occurred. I'll admit more needs to be done to fix things, but still, it is funny how you didn't care before and your doom predictions never come true.

In other words, it can't be done so don't bother. We don't want to sound mean or criticize people who are trying to screw us over, so we should just bend over and kick our own ass. Eventually, someone negotiating for the US needs to have some balls.
Well it ain’t TACO

It's just astonishing.

I have to assume that these folks have never collaborated with other people. They've never worked with people who are different from them. They have absolutely no ******* idea how things are done outside their ******* porch.

God damn. It's exasperating.
And how successful has your begging, negotiating been. Both parties weren't collaborating, they were rolling over. It is exasperating how bad we have been at trade, It is like they are not even trying.

What specifically needed fixing in 2015?

No jobs, flat markets, dead GDP 2015 2016. When Obiden CR spending (phony $1T stimulus baked in) began to be swallowed up by GOVT growth cost & interest payments, the free GOVT money to fund Blue cities and unions ran out.//

So you think a trade deficit is a bad thing I'm guessing....

Obama added jobs each month of his presidency

Obama's DJIA climbed 149%

Obama had more growth of GDP than Trump.

===========
You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Temper tantrum in 5..4..3..2...

Dead cat bounce off Deep State housing bust. $29T since 08'. Not real growth.

I know trade isn't even in all markets, however the US has a breathtaking ability to get the worst side of any agreement. You can argue protectionism and free trade, but in the end, shouldn't something be good for US Markets? I know there can be an imbalance, but surely to goodness we can have a few wins. We paid for Europe's defense, we outsourced all of our manufacturing, we don't make our own pharmaceuticals. Then we attack coal and natural gas, import illegal aliens, and invest in climate garbage that even Bill gates admits was useless garbage. We can do better, and I'd argue we are starting to now.

Yet amazingly our economy remained the world's largest during all of those "worst side" agreements. Care to explain that?

Not sure what market you're talking about there....the DJIA has been on the upswing the entirety of the century so far. What goes up can come down of course but its puzzling if you think that is a weak performance.
I know there can be an imbalance, but surely to goodness we can have a few wins.
Uhhh...do you think we're losing?
We paid for Europe's defense, we outsourced all of our manufacturing, we don't make our own pharmaceuticals.
Wow; could you imagine if any of that was true.?
Then we attack coal and natural gas,
Yeah, they pollute the atmosphere and we can move some of that to alternative energies. I think liberals are out to lunch on nuclear myself. That being said, we should insist on rigorous safeguards in that area. I say have the US Navy run every nuke plant; they've proven they can do it with a nearly flawless record. You also don't have the phenomenon of people getting jobs in plants because they know someone. Everyone is vetted, trained, and subject to reassignment within hours if they're not up to the mark.
import illegal aliens,
Pfft...sad song; find a new verse.
and invest in climate garbage that even Bill gates admits was useless garbage. We can do better, and I'd argue we are starting to now.
Yeah, we should start with education. An area in which you're clearly lacking.

So illegals didn't swarm into the US, we didn't wipe out our manufacturing, and Nato wasn't coasting off of its commitment? Do you honestly think attacking energy production for feel good ineffective green policies after covid was a smart idea? Where were you educated?

So illegals didn't swarm into the US,
No more than they had since the 70's and 80's. Its been a mostly mutually beneficial relationship.
we didn't wipe out our manufacturing,
It certainly moved a lot overseas. Is it all gone as you were pretending? Nope.
and Nato wasn't coasting off of its commitment?
Almost all nations were paying the chartered 2% of the GDP. Some nations were not.
Do you honestly think attacking energy production for feel good ineffective green policies after covid was a smart idea?
Well, I'm of the mindset that we should exploit Nuclear Energy. I'm also cognizant of the fact that at some point, we'll run out of coal, natural gas, and petroleum. We're consuming it faster the earth is making it. We've got to do something.

Do you honestly think that there is an endless supply?

And yes, cleaner are does feel good.

This will be very interesting. Trump's wild, fluid, constantly changing, often punitive & random, impossible-for-businesses-to-plan-for tariffs -- which have played such a significant role in ruining longstanding global relationships -- are very important to him. He is just assuming that he can take the power to issue tariffs from Congress, and he is fully expecting "his" Supreme Court to let him.

This is a big deal. Will the Supreme Court fold for him? And if not, how does he react?

As usual trump has overstepped his authority. Just another crime under his belt. He doesn't care he's got his stooges following him nostter what.

You are stupid Stann.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

You listen to some schmuck on radio and parrot what they say.

This court is a lot more independent than most.

I'm glad you are being polite. I believe you are quite wrong on levels of illegal immigration during Biden years vs the 70's and 80's. The massive caravans, catch and release, NGO support, and abuse of asylum laws were ramped up to record highs. I also don't see the mutual benefit to wage suppression, and government food, medical, and educational support. Taxpayers got hosed, human trafficking and drugs went rampant, and the illegals were basically slave labor. It was more lose, lose.

Trump's 2025 tariffs are the largest tax hike since 1993. I thought the Left favoured taxes?

The Democrats talk about diplomacy and negotiations while shutting down the economy on purpose during covid, then flooding it with illegals, and attacking coal and natural gas for green gimmicks and scams. You guys couldn't have screwed the economy up any more than you did. You guys had to destroy the economy on purpose, because there is no way you could cause that much damage by accident.
