You live and learn. In my lifetime the orthodoxy has been that the uplands was only fit ffor grazing sheep. Now it may be used for other things.

You can still get them, Tommy, its called Ergot fungus. Just keep your grain nice and damp and when you start to see the blackish purple ergot form, it makes a nice grape-colored bread! Delicious. Take about 100mg of claviceps purpurea a day and you'll be a new man.
