Depends on where you get your news. When Reagan took office, unemployment in Detroit, as created by Carter's policies, was around 10%. Give or take the national rate under Carter was 8%. Yep, Carter was a very shitty president, to say the least.

I get employment stats from the BLS, the authoritative voice on employment stats.

As far as Carter, as shitty a president as he was, he still added 10.3 million jobs and left office with the unemployment rate at the same level he started with. And in terms of the unemployment rate, Carter ranked in last place among Democrats but in second place among Republicans. That's how bad Republicans are at holding the highest office in the land.

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, NEW JERSEY, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington, have red flag laws.


Florida's legislators moved quickly to pass SB 7026, allowing law enforcement to seek a risk protection order from a judge that would temporarily remove a person’s firearm(s) for up to a year. It also bars those individuals from buying guns during that time.

These states do none of the above before taking your gun when it comes to red flag. You don't get a notice, you don't get an opportunity to be heard and you don't get an impartial tribunal. You get your gun taken and then have to fight to get it back.

The 14th Amendment has to do with the US government, not states.

The Privileges or Immunities Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment was part of the amendment proposed by the Joint Committee on Reconstruction.

According to the Supreme Court’s cases, the privileges and immunities that no state shall abridge include only a limited number of legal protections related to distinctively national citizenship as opposed to state citizenship. In the Court’s view, the basic legal rights of the private law, like property, contract, and family relations, are not associated with citizenship of the United States as such. Rather, those rights are associated with state citizenship.

People HAVE due process, it's called a court, moron.

Under Florida's "red flag law," courts may issue risk protection orders (RPOs) to prohibit certain individuals (called "respondents") from having any firearms or ammunition because they pose a serious risk of gun violence.
In Florida only law enforcement agencies or officers may file petitions for RPOs.

As soon as a petition is filed, the court must schedule a hearing on the RPO request within 14 days. The respondent must receive a notice about the petition and the hearing as soon as possible. (Fla. Stat. § 790.401(4) (2021).)
