It is an interesting dilemma. The Christian ideal is to strive for the perfection of God. Various groups call on Christians to be tolerant of this, that, and the other. The etymology of 'tolerant' is to 'endure pain'. There are groups who want to bring pain to Christianity with the demand Christians endure the pain.If you don't like it, don't join. Yet, they go a step further and attempt to attack Christianity in culture and lamblast it as "hateful" and "bigoted"...
They are the ones instigating things... we're just sitting here minding our own business honestly.
'Bigot' originally meant a religious hypocrite. If Christians are to work towards perfection, while accepting imperfect concepts/behaviors, then we truly are hypocrites as we have stopped pointing towards perfection and the ideal.
Christians are not perfect. We are simply a community who believes in perfection and therefore want to be free to strive for it. Why the wish to burden us with the pain of settling for something outside the ideal of perfection. The Narrow Way is difficult enough on its own.
