Absolutely not, they were weak and they corrupted his words. That allowed hatred and ignorance into religion. That is the only basis for such horrible prejudices. In the past it was a unifying Factor, in today's world such ignorance cannot be tolerated, let alone practiced.

God wants us to choose in and of ourselves to be good beings. God has made himself known and has given us the definition of good and evil. But he does still require that we accept in on faith. He does give confirmation through the Holy Ghost to those who seek.

The stories in the Bible have some historical value because some of the information is based in fact. But when it comes to prophecies and miracles those are in the realm of fables. That does not say the whole story of why we are on Earth. We are here to CHOOSE between good and evil and/or good and better. We are here to be tested. And some Christians think that once they accept Jesus and commit to Him.. what.. life will be glitch-free? They think that just because "God is love" they will have a great life. Then when they do not.. when loved ones die and evil people attack them etc.. they bail on God. I've seen this happen a lot. And I am not being callous in criticizing this bc I have been through hell also.. I could never look down my nose at someone who has been through the same or similar thing I have and not responded in a great way. . which brings up the point about how Christians need to be more tolerant of one another, more accepting, more caring.. but the condition of the world is actually going in the completely opposite direction.
