The problem with homosexuality and Christianity is you have to choose one or the other

Absolutely not, they were weak and they corrupted his words. That allowed hatred and ignorance into religion. That is the only basis for such horrible prejudices. In the past it was a unifying Factor, in today's world such ignorance cannot be tolerated, let alone practiced.

You can prove this of course?

The problem you have here is that nobody cares what either of us believe. You just aren't as special as you think you are.
Correct, we are all unique but few of us are special otherwise being special bored have no value.

Prove something about a fable ? You've got to be kidding; this is an opinion board. But all the New testament quotes on homosexuality are not based on what Jesus said they are based on the Old testament and ancient Hebrew tribal loss. Nothing that is relevant to today's world.

And ancient Hebrew tribal laws.

He was only a man, very knowledgeable for his time, but still limited by the time he lived in.
True, he was a man but he was also the Son of God who obtained a fulness of the Father.

Matthew 28:18
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

So you believe, that doesn't make it fact.

Actually that is the definition of a table, Believing a story that cannot be proven.
It's called FAITH.

When a little child learns to walk and talk, they don't need proof that they can do it before they have faith to do it. God sends us to this earth to learn to walk by faith. Are the things God asks us to do evil? NO! they are good. God sent his Son Jesus Christ here to be the example of what manner of men we ought to be. God wants us to choose in and of ourselves to be good beings. God has made himself known and has given us the definition of good and evil. But he does still require that we accept in on faith. He does give confirmation through the Holy Ghost to those who seek.

Matthew 7:7-8
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

James 1:5-6
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Yes, like fables, faith is based on belief not on facts.

Fables are short stories, usually featuring animal characters, that teach a moral lesson. Faith is the confidence that it is good and right to encompass the morals into one's life.

The stories in the Bible have some historical value because some of the information is based in fact. But when it comes to prophecies and miracles those are in the realm of fables. Fables usually only teach good morals, the Bible teaches good morals and bad immoral " morals? ".So I guess we could say there is some truth in the Bible.

Is it really true that Charlemagne put pagans to the sword if they didn't convert to Christianity?

Yes and No. In his time of history it had been totally normal that a whole tribe or a complete population overtook the god(s) of the winners in a war. The own gods lost - so the leaders changed their religion what meant also all others changed their religion.

There had been one big exception: Widukind the duke of the Saxons (=Northern Germans). The Saxons had lost against Charlesmagne, so Widukind converted to the Christian religion and became a vasall of Charlesmagne. But when Charlesmagne was in another war Widukind did "resign" this contract - what never had happened since Germanic tribes had existed as far as I know. Charlesmagne saw in this behavior a very heavy crime. He was forced to do a second time war against Widukind an his Saxons and wan again. In this context speaks one source about that Charlesmagne had executed 4000 leading Saxons. Asides that "4" and "4000" (=4 times uncountable many) are typical exaggerations of this time of history the word in this source could also mean "resettle" - so it is thinkable he had displaced 4, 40 or 4 dozends, 400 or really 4000 saxon leaders with or without their families - what could make a big sense because it explains the many places in Germany with "Saxon" in their names although there never had lived Saxon tribes. It could also be he indeed executed the leaders of this 4000 families.

That does not say the whole story of why we are on Earth. We are here to CHOOSE between good and evil and/or good and better. We are here to be tested. And some Christians think that once they accept Jesus and commit to Him.. what.. life will be glitch-free? They think that just because "God is love" they will have a great life. Then when they do not.. when loved ones die and evil people attack them etc.. they bail on God. I've seen this happen a lot. And I am not being callous in criticizing this bc I have been through hell also.. I could never look down my nose at someone who has been through the same or similar thing I have and not responded in a great way. . which brings up the point about how Christians need to be more tolerant of one another, more accepting, more caring.. but the condition of the world is actually going in the completely opposite direction. People are cold as hell these days.. their leaders are following Satan. But I digress----

The worst atrocities of the Christian church are evidenced in in the New world. October 5th., 1513. Spanish conquistador Pasco Nunez de Balboa tried to convert a tribe in Panama to Christianity. The chief of the tribe explained they already had their own gods. The monk was horrified by what happened next. Following his orders from the Pope, convert the heathens and if they will not convert kill them. We need the land for our people. It did just that he murdered 40 of the tribesmen, cut them up into pieces and fed them to his dogs. Thank GOD, the monk was the scribe on the expedition and realized what an atrocity this was. Recorded for prosperity, the true face of the Christian faith.

When the Europeans arrived in the New world there were an estimated 500 million native Americans. Because of the diseases they brought with them, slavery and outright murder within a century of their arrival that population had been reduced to less than 200 million. We're talking about 300 million people that were murdered by Christians.
