Evidently the Pope has been asleep for the past 200 years where capitalism has brought more people out of poverty than any church could ever dream of. I will never understand why people blame the proven solution for the "problem."

Since when did the Pope become more interested in people's economic condition than in their Souls?

Great point edge...I have 18 years of catholic learning and never once did the nuns, brothers or Jesuits talk to me about how to get out of poverty...it was always about saving my soul...and now I hear I will be rooming with a fag in heaven!!!!

Don't talk that way about Jesus.
I guess we should all listen to the Pope on matters about they economy. Remind me again, what about his background qualifies him an expert on the economy?

Wherein is the evidence that Capitalism was the one and only variable? This maybe the best example of what Mark Twain meant when he wrote, "there are liars, damn liars and statistics".
