When I was giving tours, I often told my passengers who our federal system of government was not based upon European governments but that of the Iroquois Nation here in North America. Some, if not more than a few, would laugh at me.
I forgot where I first came upon that information until reading today's Blogger Gunny in which he links to an excerpt from a word entitled Benjamin Franklin, the Iroquois and the Rationale for the American Revolution. It's a long read but will open a whole lot of eyes.
To me, the entire highlight of the article is this: Leaders are servants of the people.
