The Masters

This is even better, Rory will be playing only an hour from his hometown here, I think this major will be just as big for him as the Masters. I kind of like either him or Shane Lowry to win here in July.

They are both certainly playing well. Don’t count out Aberg… he’s got one of the best swings I’ve seen in a while, just needs to learn how to close out a major

Now you have piqued my interest in going to the Masters again! I wanted to go with my son 3 years ago but the price freaked out my wife. Could I ask what you paid for Wed-Thur passes? Thanks for the interesting post!
Passes are $73. That's what you pay Augusta National for passes they sell direct to you. If you try to buy them on the open market you're going to pay thousands. I'm truly fortunate. I have a friend who has worked at Augusta National for decades and she got us passes for the grounds and for Berkman's Place. If you don't have an in like that you're going to have to get in the ticket lottery and hope you get lucky.

Yea, he gave up late yesterday, his putting was failing him, if he made a few of those early putts that he just missed I think he would have played better late in the round. He is going to be a good one, already near the leaders in the majors on Sunday.

Wow, that's awesome!

I never played golf, but enjoy watching it occasionally. The skills needed are really intriguing. If I am around a tv, then I would watch the end of a great tournament like the Master's on late Sunday afternoon.

Going sounds like fun, but I imagine you would not see a lot unless you had a great ticket. Sort of reminds me of the KY Derby. You can get standing room tix for under 200 bucks, but you won't see much of anything. Even if you are on level three, it's hard to see much. Hell, it's hard to figure it out on tv!

Also reminds me of the Indy 500. I went and we sat on the back stretch. We would watch the cars whizz by and wait the for leaders to make it back around. You really do need a headset with a radio. Now, if you talking 1/2 mile stock car tracks, then I am there.

A story is told about a Scotsman who purchased tickets for a practice round at Augusta National, and was accosted as he brung his clubs to the Pro Shop for a tee time.

One of the interesting things about the Masters, Dean is that you can place your Masters chair at a location in the morning (we had ours at the 16th hole) leave it there and go watch the tournament at other spots or follow a group that you like around the course. Nobody will mess with your chair and it will be there whenever you want to go sit in it. So we had our chairs at 16 and watched groups teeing off at hole one, headed over to watch them hit to hole 6 and tee off at 7, then we hung out at Amen Corner as groups started coming through. When the groups started coming to 16 we sat in our chairs and relaxed as they played 15 and 16 right in front of us. You really do see a lot.

Hmm, interesting. Thank you for the insight.

His swing totally amazes me. He is 6' 3" but his swing actually looks "compact". It doesn't seem possible but there it is. All he did as a rookie last year at the Masters FIRST TIME PLAYING AUGUSTA was finish runner up. And he was top 5 in his second Masters starts. That tells you the upside he has.

Yeah the dude has potential to be great. Could have joined the playoff this year if he made that putt on 16 and parred out. Majors are a whole different thing but I think he will figure it out
