The Masters

While I have been pulling for Dechambeau, this has been an outstanding Masters for spectators. So many ups and downs for all of them.

If Rose pulls it out, he can truly say he earned it. Rory shot over par today. It just illustrates how difficult it is to stay in the fairway when you hit the ball that far.

I thought Rory was done at 13 when he dumped a simple 80 yard wedge shot into the creek. He could take a bucket of balls to that spot and hit the green every time. Rose had a great tournament, he just missed too many putts. I question if hitting 1000 practice balls benefited Bryson. :confused-84:

Justin Rose came in 2nd in The Open Championship last year too.

How happy will Rory be never to hear again "So what would it mean to you to FINALLY wear a green jacket Rory?" I'll be he has literally been asked that 1000 times.

I went to the Masters for the Wed practice round and Thurs opening round. Augusta National is spectacular. If you've never been you really need to make the effort. The grounds there are immaculate. The grass almost looks fake. It is far and away the best run sporting event on the planet. Parking is free. Food and drinks are incredibly cheap. Scored passes for Berkman's Place. The best "golf sports bar" ever! They have four greens there that are exact copies of greens out on the course that you can putt on (with actual Augusta caddies reading the putt for you!). Four restaurants...bar stocked with the best scotches and bourbons out there and it's all free! (Well...free if you pay the ten grand to be a member for the week!)

Watched a lot of the tournament from the left side of the 16th hole. It's where the players "Skip It!" during practice rounds! Totally stoked that Rory finally got the monkey off his back. My friend that works at Augusta says that he's by far the most popular player among the members and staff of Augusta National.

I heard about the food and drinks being cheap there, that is a kind of backhanded way of appeasing patrons and helps to fade the effect of sticker shock suffered in the entrance fee. Pretty amazing Masters to witness firsthand, though, one of the most dramatic endings you'll ever see, and one of the most dramatic tournaments, I heard Nicklaus saying last night on The Golf Channel that he cannot remember a tournament where he saw so many amazing shots followed by so many terrible shots.

This guy is the GOAT of the Masters, without a doubt, 6 green jackets. Great to see him there on the anniversary of his 1975 win, which also was a playoff win (3 way tie)

I'm so happy for him. He's the guy I always expected to be better than he was. FINALLY he reached the potential we all thought he'd reach. He won all 4 masters? Grand slam they call it? It's like being a EGOT. Actually better. Only 4 other people have done it. That puts Rory up there on a very elite level.

He's already one of the only golf names I know. And if you would have asked me I would have said "he never reached his full potential" but now I will never say or think that again. Now he's certainly a HOF golfer. He probably was before this win but this solidifies it.

U.S. Open in 2011, the PGA Championship in 2012, the Open Championship (British Open) in 2014, and the PGA Championship again in 2014

Has it been 11 years since his last major win? I bet he NEVER thought he'd win another one.

Again, soooo happy for him.
