The Masters

Sunday morning I placed a $15 bet on Aberg to win, that bet paid $650, I could not believe they were offering those odds (+4000) on DraftKings. He was runner up last year and was close to the leaders Sunday. They would have taken a big hit if that guy was making his putts early and found a way to pull it out, he barely missed three putts in the first round that would have put him in the lead.

I don't see that killer instinct yet, he shows no emotion and the announcer kept talking about his smile, which seems too chill. I did not see another golfer smile all day, except when Rory put one on the green from the pinestraw when he went through the trees.

calmness is a superpower in golf. But I agree that the greats are able to balance that with an intensity that Aberg still needs to figure out. Conquering nerves at that level can’t be easy… I think he is almost there. Wins have a way of giving the confidence needed to pull out the victories. He obviously has the skills

I honestly think he is there already. The guy found success early, just like Rory did as a kid, but Rory doesn't seem to have conquered his nerves, until maybe right now. Rory can go on a heater this year, two of the remaining Majors are where he has smoked it in the past. The Open is played on a course that he shot 61 on as a kid, which might still be the course record, not sure.

Justin Thomas won the RBC Heritage in a sudden death playoff at Harbour Town Links Course in South Carolina today. Caught quite a bit of the last 3 days of the tournament. I like watching that tournament. Great course.

I watched the last few holes, didn't catch the playoff. Good for Justin, tough for Novak. He keeps knocking on the door for his first win.

I'd like to be his agent. You can't teach what he has already, he will learn the rest.

Brian Harman finished T3 and Scottie Scheffler finished T8. Patrick Cantlay, Keegan Bradley, Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele finished in the top 20.

Well that didn't take long! Novak gets his first win at the Zurich 2 ball along with Ben Griffin. First wins for both of them, good stuff!
Yep. I was busy all day yesterday and much of today. Tried to catch some of the Zurich Classic today during a break in yardwork but play was suspended for lightning in the area. Followed the last few holes online. Griffin has been grinding it out and playing a lot to try to improve his ranking and qualify for the Masters and signature events. He didn't qualify for the Masters or RBC Heritage. I think he just earned quite a few exemptions. Gotta feel good for Novak.
