Folks, in this election you're watching the complete collapse of American journalism as we know it | Fox News

Donald Trump may or may not fix his campaign, and Hillary Clinton may or may not become the first female president. But something else happening before our eyes is almost as important: the complete collapse of American journalism as we know it.

The frenzy to bury Trump is not limited to the Clinton campaign and the Obama White House. They are working hand in hand with what was considered the cream of the nation’s news organizations.

The shameful display of naked partisanship by the elite media is unlike anything seen in modern America.

The largest broadcast networks — CBS, NBC and ABC — and major newspapers like the New York Times and Washington Post have jettisoned all pretense of fair play. Their fierce determination to keep Trump out of the Oval Office has no precedent.

Indeed, no foreign enemy, no terror group, no native criminal gang suffers the daily beating that Trump does. The mad mullahs of Iran, who call America the Great Satan and vow to wipe Israel off the map, are treated gently by comparison.

By torching its remaining credibility in service of Clinton, the mainstream media’s reputations will likely never recover, nor will the standards. No future producer, editor, reporter or anchor can be expected to meet a test of fairness when that standard has been trashed in such willful and blatant fashion.

Blatantly full of shit.........

It is not the networks that are deriding Trump......It is TRUMP himself that has become a living, clownish joke....You CAN blame the networks for concentrating more on the constant catastrophes of what Trump spews, rather than the other candidates' policies...whatever they may be.
Last year, Trump's ridiculous statements have managed to dominate the airwaves.....So, it is NOT "bad" coverage of Trump; rather, it is Trump himself that, as a ring master, dictates the entertainment of the circus' acts.

Maybe trump needs to have a forth estate sale. I'm sure he could get $4.95 for his hair alone. His sons could put out all the dead animals they have killed. Trump could auction off his failed businesses as they go into bankruptcy.

He could put out a wall for sale and make Mexico pay for it.

There's no such thing as an expectation of or obligation to 'fair play' in the media. It's called freedom of the press.

What an incredibly ignorant thing to say .... the very concept that we should allow the press to be partisan flies in the face of the structure of this country.

The press is afforded significant latitude in order to ensure that the information, and all the information, provided to the people is fair, unbiased, and honest.

Your own reference validate the opinion of the original author.

The level of attacks on Trump are unprecedented, but even more so, is the hands-off favoritism shown Hillary Clinton. Maybe it ain't "what you report" ... maybe it's "what you don't report".

When lacking a coherent response, you resort to silly comments like these, clearly demonstrating your lack of understanding of the issues under discussion.

Even worse than that is the use of ridiculously childish "funny" emoji, used to attempt to belittle the poster.

Grow the hell up --- or shut the hell up. I care not which.

You speak in hyperbolic absolutes 'the sky is falling' rhetoric. Isn't Faux News presenting your version of things?

If you don't like how the media covers something write to them, or become journalist and expose this 'gigantic issue', or start a news station and present only right wing propaganda 24/7. Faux News already does that but maybe you could join in.

Are you REALLY that stupid? Frankly, you sound like a 5 year old kid who gets all excited because he heard you fart. It doesn't get much more childish than that.

The real question is WHY aren't there any opinion pieces about Hillary. CNN is serving as the propaganda arm of the Democratic party.

I wonder why they didn't cover the Abedin-Clinton Foundation-Muslim donors story.

I wonder why they didn't cover the Huma Abedin-extremist Muslim connection.

I wonder why they ignored the anti-Trump/pro-Hillary mob in Minneapolis.

I wonder why they didn't cover the Powell-Clinton kerfuffle where Powell claimed Clinton lied (again).

Balance + Truth ... apparently, too much to ask for the Hillary media machine.

You are right with respect to the media trashing of The big orange clown. He says so many dumb things that it makes it almost impossible not to seem like you're trashing him when you report what he says. But on the other hand, the media takes a very wide berth when reporting, or more accurately not reporting, the many foibles of the pantsuit bulldyke. There are so many scandals (email, Benghazi, DNC election rigging, etc.) that most of the media glosses over. I have to believe that if Orange clown had her record he would be in much worse shape than he already is, because the media would carpet bomb him on reporting it.
