No.....racism was used to allow people with horrible credit to qualify for loans on mortgages they couldn't afford.
If you were black you could get into a $300,000.00 mansion for zero down and a credit score of 450 with no stable income.
Then close to a million people walked and left the bank holding the note.
That started the economic crash.....which was the excuse they used to dream up the Stimulus that Obama claimed would pay for shovel-ready jobs that didn't exist.
Liar!
It was BUSH who changed the law giving no down payment loans to people with bad credit for more than the property was worth. Most of the abandoned houses were abandoned by WHITE real estate speculators, then those bad loans were packaged together by greedy WHITE bankers and sold to greedy WHITE speculators as AAA bonds.
Then racist scum like you blamed blacks.

Funny how there were many shovel ready jobs in Dem states, but none in GOPQ states.

What the hell...you guys are still locked down?

Our statewide lockdown wasn't even a month long...it was April 7th, 2020 to May 3rd, 2020. Statewide mask and social distancing orders expired in June and schools were allowed to reopen after July of 2020. All our local districts open for in-person learning in late August 2020 but many opted for a three or four day in-person schedule to allow deep cleaning.

Hussein said it himself: Those shovel ready jobs were not so shovel ready.

During the Clinton administration, it was his efforts to get more minorities and poor to get their own homes. Bush may have kept the same polices and even promoted it, but it was Clinton that started the movement in the reduction of qualifications to get home loans because so many blacks didn't have down payment or proper credit history to secure a standard loan.

Ummm...that isn't even true.

The stock market crashed in 2008 because too many had people had taken on loans they couldn't afford. Lenders relaxed their strict lending standards to extend credit to people who were less than qualified. This drove up housing prices to levels that many could not otherwise afford.
Those loan standards are created by our federal government. It's HUD who oversees Fanny & Freddy. When they lowered the standards, most banks complied. To dump those loans into the market, banks have to comply with their standards.

Yeah, I suppose it is better late than never.
The lockdowns were only used to make Trump look bad. Especially, it happened during an Election year. If it was any other year, we wouldn't even be in lockdowns in the first place.
Democrats probably caused the Economic collapse in 2008.....and they caused the COVID lockdowns on 2020.
Democrats create disasters or.....or....they're just taking advantage of them. Either way....they suck ass.
This is why they're so despicable.
The Housing collapse in 2008 could have happened with less volatility a few years before it happened at least and it would have been less painful for us all. Loans were given out to people that were questionable. Junk bonds were in huge numbers. W. Bush even warned of it. Progs are brazen because they have no pushback. They are backed by elites and there is a fair number of those who are police, military, security and others who will back them.
GW was part of the same cabal as Obama and Bill Clinton.
It doesn't matter who was in charge......they were all responsible.
And now the same mofos that did it are now in charge trying to create yet another disaster we'll end up paying for.
You tell pesky facts about that to USMBs resident troll smellybozo that his hero’s Obama and Clinton are part of the nwo order cabal and pals with bush,he changes the subject and evades the evidence as his bosses instruct him to do I’m sure you have noticed.

Ohio's Republican governor did the same thing. Still better than any blue state governor, but Noem was a rock. She stood alone on principle. Florida's governor is a close second I guess
We still had plenty of restrictions here. There are businesses until today still getting fined because of not following Covid regulations. Governor DeRINO is a one-term Governor. He appeared more often in our state media than Trump did for the nation. He lived for this shit.

S Dakota has the 8th highest death rate.
Good job Kristi!

NY and NJ have the highest though Cuomo was the democrat shinning example of good governorship until it was found out he lied and covered up death statistics. Now you suddenly care about death rates?

CA and FL are right next to each other - CA which has been in hard lockdown virtually the entire time and FL which has been almost completely open. UT sits at the bottom of the list and they have been wide open for months. The largest theme park in UT has been open and operating for several months now.

Lockdowns do not seem to be working very well.
That’s because as any thinking person knows it is not the virus itself killing people it is the lockdowns thst have caused far greater deaths than the virus as any thinking objective open minded person knows.

Yep, and by September 2008, Congress approved a $700 billion bank bailout, now known as the Troubled Asset Relief Program. By February 2009, Obama proposed the $787 billion economic stimulus package, which helped avert a global depression. Here is an overview of the significant moments of the Great Recession of 2008.

What was the short-term impact of the financial crisis on the economy? The crisis was the worst U.S. economic disaster since the Great Depression. In the United States, the stock market plummeted, wiping out nearly $8 trillion in value between late 2007 and 2009.

We as humans always make mistakes. It's part of our nature. However learning from those mistakes is what makes you better. It's not so much looking at what mistakes we made in the middle and end, it's what we did to start the mistake.

Clinton and then HUD secretary Cuomo created this plan to get more minorities in their own homes by lowering the qualifications. When Clinton left, we had a downturn in the economy. Amid trying to improve the economy, we were hit with 911, and went back downhill again.

When we shrugged that off, the same housing loan requirements applied, and as the economy got better, more and more people were buying houses. I know because I lost two great tenants in the process. They were both over-extended on credit, and both got houses at 0% down and no credit check.

The left only blames GW; not that he did enough to stop it, but the left wants to put the entire blame on him when it was Clinton that started all this.

I saw the movie with Kevin Spacey call "Margin Call". It was a really good movie. As long as "The Last Days: The Fall of Lehman Brothers". Both explained about the 2008 Financial Crisis and the Housing Bubble.

I don't think I've watched a movie in over 20 years. I don't patronize these left-wing kooks which Hollywood has always been. I haven't turned on a football game since they started this kneeling shit, and our team was in the playoffs this year. F-em all.

Deep in the heart of Texas.
Just to be clear Governor Abbotts order does not prevent a business owner from limiting capacity or requiering people to wear mask inside if they wish nor does it prevent people from continuning to wear a mask if they wish to. It is giving people and businesses the right to decide for themselves not a bad thing in my opinion.

"God Bless Texas!" Before Governor Recall wants to criticize Texas Governor Abbott, perhaps he needs to learn how to run his own fucking state first. Time to end this China Virus farce that has allowed Democrats to destroy our economy in an effort to inject socialism as the predominant economic system in our nation. Death toll has been completely exaggerated in order that hospitals can get more $$$. How many people have actually died from just the China Virus alone with no pre-existing conditions? Right at about zero. Open up our country again Democrat Governors!

In RED states, because the GOPQ governors used the stimulus moner to pay down their debt rather than create jobs to make sure Obama was a one term president.

And Clinton only allowed loans to QUALIFIED minorities, but to racist scum like you, no minority is ever qualified for a loan. It was BUSH and only BUSH who changed the law giving no down payment loans to people with bad credit for more than the property was worth. It was the key feature of his 2004 campaign to steal minority voters from the Dems.

USATODAY.com - Bush seeks to increase minority homeownership

Bush seeks to increase minority homeownership
By Thomas A. Fogarty, USA TODAY

In a bid to boost minority homeownership, President Bush will ask Congress for authority to eliminate the down-payment requirement for Federal Housing Administration loans.

In announcing the plan Monday at a home builders show in Las Vegas, Federal Housing Commissioner John Weicher called the proposal the "most significant FHA initiative in more than a decade." It would lead to 150,000 first-time owners annually, he said.

Nothing-down options are available on the private mortgage market, but, in general, they require the borrower to have pristine credit. Bush's proposed change would extend the nothing-down option to borrowers with blemished credit.

The FHA isn't a direct lender, but guarantees loan payments for mortgages on moderately priced owner-occupied property. The FHA guarantee now permits private lenders to finance as much as 97% of the purchase price of a home for millions of low- and middle-income borrowers.

In the proposal soon to be delivered to Congress, Bush would allow the FHA to guarantee loans for the full purchase price of the home, plus down-payment costs. As a practical matter, the FHA would guarantee mortgages as high as 103% of the value of the underlying property.
