Hmm, you raised a good point.It should be up to parents to make sure their children dont buy cigarettes.. not a store. That's insane.
I guess what I am saying is that the two situations are a bit different, mainly that in order to buy a cigarette you would have to go to a store, where parents have no control over, whereas to access porn, you do it from home, where parents have some control. If we ask websites to verify kids' age then inevitably we end up with laws that affect adults too. That would be less ideal.
