I guess what I am saying is that the two situations are a bit different, mainly that in order to buy a cigarette you would have to go to a store, where parents have no control over, whereas to access porn, you do it from home, where parents have some control. If we ask websites to verify kids' age then inevitably we end up with laws that affect adults too. That would be less ideal.

You can’t buy guns or liquor online in North Carolina and have shipped to your home. Porn should be just as regulated in my humble opinion as a parent. Even if liquor and guns were free you wouldn’t leave it up to parents to regulate by themselves. Just my humble opinion as a parent.
