Texas Democrats flee the state to Illinois.

After 5 years?

No other state does that.
Especially for no other reason, than a request from their dear leader.

After the census, every 10 years.

No, what republicans are doing is the farthest thing from democracy.
Do they have the authority to redraw the districts when their population grows rapidly, even if it is between the other redistrictings? That's the only question in play and I don't see anyone trying to make the case they don't.

Why is the FBI involved? What jurisdiction does the FBI have in an intra-state matter that doesn't involve any crime, suspected crime, or criminal warrant?

It seems republicans are suddenly super cool with the FBI hunting American citizens on US soil for no crime and no jurisdiction.
They've crossed state lines. That's when the FBI has jurisdiction. Once they crossed the border, Texas authorities no longer had control. That is the whole point, after all.

What federal crime is the FBI investigating them for? Remember, there's no crime even being alleged here in Texas. And certainly no federal one. So how can the FBI call upon the Supremecy Doctrine, where there's no federal crime even suspected?

Think about what you're actually calling for and think about the implications; That the FBI can hunt US citizens on US soil for NO REASON, without any crime, criminal warrant, jurisdiction or even suspecting them of committing any crimes.

That's what MAGA wants? Jesus.

The Texas Supreme Court explicitly forbids the Texas government from applying any criminal charges to legislators leaving Texas.
Actual crimes do not matter to MAGA.

/---/ You can't even admit when you're wrong.

Let's be honest, CB--- you cannot expect honesty from a group of people who are unwilling to even define what a woman is. So how can they admit they are ever wrong when their morality and fact-base are FLUID, changing as needed from moment to moment to fit the situation.

Thereby, technically, allowing them to "never" be wrong.

Texas can redistrict upon approval of the Texas legislature.

There is no requirement to wait until the next census.

Do they have the authority to redraw the districts when their population grows rapidly,
Hmmmmmmmm............How would they know that?

There is this thing they do every 10 years..............
even if it is between the other redistrictings? That's the only question in play and I don't see anyone trying to make the case they don't.
Anyone with a brain.
