We need affirmative action chess. White gets only king and pawns. Who knows, we might get a black chess master instead of the usual assortment of Russians, Armenians and Jews.

And so what if white goes first? Whenever I played chess, one person would put one white piece in one hand, and a black piece in the other hand, then offer the other person the pick. Whichever color they chose, that is what they played.

And yeah, white always moved first.
