Steve Jobs created much wealth for many people and provided a service most of us greatly appreciate. This letter contains a sentence which is foreboding.

Gallagher, I'm not getting sound, and the letter's print is too small to read. Just thought you'd like to know.

I think if you view it in HD 1080p (select on YouTube, lower right) and full screen you should be ok. There is no sound, just the letter.

Steve Jobs was adopted as a baby in the 50's. If he was born ten years later he would probably have been killed in the womb by a more "enlightened" generation. It's a shame he was stricken with pancreatic cancer in his 50's.

If memory serves me correctly, it was just a short time back, that the news media was saying something was wrong with him, because he was becoming so thin and gaunt looking. But then, other news reports denied anything was wrong with him.
But when I saw him on Tv, giving a speech, I thought he looked like he had thinned and was a bit sickly. Yes, it's a sad shame.

The first 2 sentences, take your pick. When a 56 year-old cannot perform business duties, it means ill health is overcoming him.

I'm curious willow. Was the line "I hope he fails" a throwaway line? Do you understand the difference between the private sector and government policies? "I hope he (Obama) fails" is the Rush Limbaugh line that the left loves to quote. The full quote is "I hope Obama's socialist policies fail". It is reasonable to take sides in the political debate but when a person says that he/she hopes an important part of the private sector fails it indicates ignorance of the capitalist system or worse.

I believe it's pancreatic cancer. It's surprising he's lasted so long. I believe there was a transplant. Apple will turn into just another big corporation without him. I'd be very surprised if it even exists independently in ten years. It might not even make five.
